In October of 2008, Sarah Palin was mocked as being too far-fetched by foreign policy media elites for predicting that if Obama won the presidency, Putins Russias might indeed invade Ukraine. "Saturday Night Live" had fun with Palin by lampooning her statement when she said one could see Russia from Alaska.
Yet late last week, Palin got the last laugh when Putin invaded the Ukrainian Crimea, Yes, I could see this one from Alaska. I'm usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as an extremely far-fetched scenario by the high-brow Foreign Policy magazine. Heres what this stupid insipid woman predicted back in 2008: "After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next."
On Tuesday this week, quick to capture some political capital that Palin earned over the weekend, John McCain gave a 20-minute sermon on the Senate floor about President Obamas feckless foreign policy actions with regard to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. McCain preached that Obama is ignorant of who Putin really is, He does not understand his ambitions. All these sophisticates missed that only would Russia do it but that Crimea wouldn’t put up a fuss... Sarah the “redneck” can see the obvious.
only => not only
Lol how apropos.
Of course there are higher aspects to liberty that aren’t explicit in the political picture. God is the author of liberty, if we accept His blessings. One virtue of all the founding fathers is that they at least accepted a generalized bible message, if not also the explicit gospel. God blessed that. It wasn’t perfect, being yet in this mortal coil. There were weak spots. Like has been said, we should have picked our own bleeping cotton. But it was still better than the get-along-to-get-along world.
But anyhow. Yes. We either get the blessings of life and liberty from God, or we get the living death of hell. Our choice. God won’t shove the good stuff down our throats against our wills.
Well, haven’t we hit a new low with this stupid story.
This old boy really needs to retire. He needs to rest.
Take back the color blue.
FUN (F* the UN)
I love that! :-)
