KEY LARGO, Fla. – No matter what’s going on in the world – or where in the world he happens to be – President Obama never stops being president, his aides say.

So on Friday, a week into a tense international standoff half a world away, Obama loaded his aides and his family aboard Air Force One, left chilly Washington and arrived here in sunny South Florida for a weekend getaway at the exclusive Ocean Reef resort.

There were golf courses, tennis courts, pools and immaculate beach fronts.

There was also, White House spokesman Josh Earnest assured reporters, the “regular assortment of communication tools” that would allow the president to hold national security briefings with deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken, who was among the traveling entourage.

I do wonder what prompted that remark. Someone was replying to a statement expressing doubt about Obama’s effectiveness or concern. All I can say is welcome to the club of those counting the days until he leaves by whatever means.

You beat me I was just about ready to post this one.
Not many of us are very happy about zeros visit here in the upper Florida Keys.

We already have septic tank construction all over the Upper Keys that has nearly brought traffic to a halt and now they are closing down this and that and making a nuisance of themselves all in the middle/peak of tourist season. Just so the Dear Leader can play Reggie/golf at an exclusive private club where no one will admit to letting him in.

You can't just drive on to the the ORC. You have to get permission. We get it on a regular basis for deliveries to a marina there. Security and privacy are well deserved there. Those people plunk down a big hunk of change for their privacy.

And when the communities ten miles north of them need stuff they(the ORC) are taxed to the hilt and often pay above and beyond. ORC residents are hardly one way streeters at all. They don't deserve the dictator to come in and take over as he does.Especially at their busiest time of the year.
