Illinois employers warned they would lay off more than 1,000 workers in the coming months, according to notices filed with Illinois regulators in February.

Accretive Health warned it would lay off 148 workers. The company said in January the layoffs are part of a broader restructuring in which positions will be moved from Chicago to other cities to be closer to clients. Accretive said then the layoffs could affect as many as 170 workers. The company employs about 600 people in the region.

How could metro Chicago not take a dive with its crime rate, winter weather and taxes?

Hardly unprecedented, one year ago, 415 healthcare insurance company workers lost their jobs at WPS in Madison WI alone.

Yep. Chicagostan has dragged the rest of IL down for years. Southern IL should be its own state. It’s completely different from the North.

That should get the unemployment rate below 5%

Cool...lot's of time for them to explore their inner poet, artist, spiritual quest, tuck their children in bed at night, live free from stress of having a job and be happy...

The only problem with that is guess who will end up supporting everyone who voted for Obama? (not that we aren't part way there already)

Cook County property taxes were due last week. Very painful to write that check after seeing the camera’s gentle focus on the welfare whiners and Rahm “Tiny Dancer” Emanuel in CNN’s Chicagoland mockumentary.

I wonder if Zer0 and Moochelle are counting on returning to Chicago after leaving the White House. The pitchfork and torch crowd are being mobilized as the layoffs continue.

My guess is Hawaii or possibly the south of France.

Today I talked to a guy who got the ax from Caterpillar based in Illinois.
Union worker who said jobs in Illinois are dying big time.
He’s looking at TX or NC as fast as possible

Same here in NJ; a few co-workers have left (not retired) for the Carolinas. If the Dems can’t “nationalize” their socialism to erase the differences in tax environments, Red (communist) states will continue bleeding electoral votes.

metro Chicago

Living about 150 miles away, I find the place impossible to explain. Expensive real estate, high taxes of all types, high cost of living, lots of crime, lousy weather much of the year, etc.

I can't really understand how so many people find living there rewarding.

There should be an educational program set up for all immigrants from Democrat/communist states. Leave that crap that ruined your economies behind. Don’t bring it with you.

The problem I see is that deep blue states who have libs migrate out to pollute other states seem to get even more blue. It’s definitely NOT a zero sum game.

California, New York, etc.

Anyone I know who left NJ for AZ is far to the right of Pat Buchanan (and they love it there). They will never come back to the northeast, and don’t understand why anyone would stay here.

While they definitely bring their godless social liberalism with them, they also don’t want to re=create the issues that drove them from here to begin with (bloated public payrolls and masses of unassimilated minorities for whom they have to provide food, clothing, shelter, and schooling). Heck, even when they stay here they want to cut those things out (at least the whites in NY and NJ).
