Peter King: Rand Paul ‘Unfit to Be a Leader of a Party’

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) was on “America’s News Headquarters” today, where he discussed Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

In his speech, Paul said that the NSA monitors all phone calls. […]

“I think it’s an ignorant strategy which shows that he’s unfit to be a leader of a party. To say that the NSA is monitoring people’s phone calls—the NSA does not listen to anyone’s phone calls, cannot record the conversations of anyone’s phone call, unless there’s a court order, and that can only be obtained after [they’ve] shown direct contact with a terrorist overseas.” …

In case you didn’t notice (no one else did either), Peter King is running for President in 2016. He hasn’t said which party or how much his campaign will pay him for being its CEO:

I didn’t realize that Rand Paul was the “leader of the party” - or even that he thought he was.

Maybe they’ve legalized pot in NY and King’s sampling some?

I don’t even think he could run for the Northern Ireland parliament in Stormont.

Delusional

Rep. Peter King weighing run for the White House in 2016

King brushed off the idea of that his positions might make it hard to sell his candidacy to the conservative Republicans who turn out for the party's presidential primaries. Instead, he said he could help the GOP win back moderate “Reagan Democrats.”

I can’t imagine that he’s delusional enough to think that he can win. It’s just a legal way for him to take payoffs, aka contributions. What’s left in the campaign fund after his failed campaign is his to keep.

I learned all I need to know about Peter King when he started squealing for laws to protect congressmen from their constituents after the Giffords shooting.

Peter King seems to believe that our government is not yet intrusive enough as regards personal freedom, or that the people are insufficiently deferential to its whims, or else that we are as stupid as he hopes are a majority of his constituents. It’s time for him to change parties.
