MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – While getting to the gym can be a challenge in itself this winter, members of the LA Fitness in Roseville have had more serious problems to deal with.
On Sunday, city police responded to a call involving 10-15 people fighting at the gym’s Cleveland Avenue location. It started all on the basketball court over a call and escalated, moving into the main fitness area. “People were actually throwing two and a half, five, 10 pound weights within the building,” said Police Lt. Lorne Rosand.
This recent fight is just part of a bigger problem. Police say the gym has been plagued with crime in recent years.
Roseville police responded to 147 incidents there in 2013. They’ve already had 24 incident this year. “It’s gotten to the point that [the gym] is bordering on a public nuisance,” Rosand said.
Police are frustrated with that LA Fitness as their requests to put in security cameras or have guards on site have all been denied. WCCO-TV reached out to that LA Fitness, but the gym had no comment.

Do I really need to look? Or is it safe to assume?
I go to LA Fitness and there does not seem to be that problem but other places might not be the same story.
The LA Fittness near me is frequented by the same sort of feral animals. I let my membership go a few years back. Also, another one in suburban Pittsburgh was the site of a shooting in 2009 when some fruit loop with a gun walked into an aerobic class & shot a few ladies because he was lonely. Freak.
Don’t forget, this is also the gym that banned Fox News from its TVs, allowing only msnbc, CNN, a few local stations, and Bravo to be shown. And, one of the last times I worked out there in 2011, it was so warm & humid inside. I inquired at the front desk about increasing the AC only to be told the “corporate” headquarters in California had assumed control of all the gyms and enforced a strict energy conservation policy. Basically, they wouldn’t turn up the damn AC because of “global climate change”. One of the trainers said they couldn’t cool the place down if they wanted to anyway because some suit in California had control of the thermostat.
Yeah, they can suck it. I bought enough equipment to work out in my own home

I saw the story on the news. Mrs. Henkster & I knew it was westside/Lafayette Square even before they showed the address. You can’t say “Lafayette Square” when we play euchre. It’s table talk.

Was this gym membership part of that initiative that was going to have the criminals in gyms with after hours basketball and ballet to keep them off the streets? I remember something like that a few years back.

Cabin fever.... ice fishing is over, no football, hockey team doing so so.
Look at the video, some/most of those guys are indeed, Somalians. I heard sometimes there is trouble like this with Somalis playing basketball. Check some of the beards, compare to the guys in the Tom Hanks movie even.
I didn’t even think about Somalians until I was reading the comments on the original site. America is doomed.
Yup, check the names a little after 2 minutes in, the names aren’t like Jefferson or Washburn. Though all the same, with the story saying there were 147 incidences in 2013, there’s got to be other factors here too.
