Uninsured: Obamacare is Unaffordable
American Spectator ^ | 3/10/2014 | David Catron

A new survey confirms that the “Affordable Care Act” has failed to achieve one of its most important goals — making health coverage accessible to the uninsured. As the Washington Post reports, “Just one in 10 uninsured people who qualify for private health plans through the new marketplace have signed up for one.” Why so few? According to the survey, which was released last Thursday by McKinsey & Company, the most common reason cited by uninsured respondents was lack of affordability. Out of five possible reasons for failing to enroll, most chose, “I could not afford to pay the premium.”

This government is gradually forcing those working men and women in this country who live from payday to payday, save almost nothing, and have almost nothing onto the entitlement rolls.

At some point, these people are gonna just give up and start checking out SNAP, TANF, WICs, Section 8, EITC and they are going to find out that they’ll have more disposable income if they just admit to the government they cannot make it through life without help. The government intended this.

....and even if I could....I don't have a big stash of cash to pay the deductible.

No one on a working class or modest middle income can afford even the barebones Obamacare private health insurance.

For them, realistically - its Medicaid or nothing. And there are no premiums to pay.

“This government is gradually forcing those working men and women in this country who live from payday to payday, save almost nothing, and have almost nothing onto the entitlement rolls.”

We have a winner. The clamor for single-payer will start in earnest as the Democrats and liberal media double down. The government is in the process of utterly destroying the middle class worker and family through fiscal policy, tax policy, regulatory policy and social policy.

All part of the plan.

Medicaid is the new single-payer. The infrastructure for it is already in place and that is what it will morph into.

DO NOT FORGET O/Care is full of scams and tricks---various corrupt schemes to fulfill O's obsession WRT a permanent Dumbocrat Majority.

CASE IN POINT--Dumbos know O/Care is teeming w/ endless vote fraud tricks. And that's why they enthusiastically voted for it w/ an historic straight party-line vote.

===============================================

O/CARE IS AMNESTY W/ SPANISH SUBTITLES---Obama went on latino TV whining about "underdeserved" latinos and is conniving to get them enrolled.

INCONVENIENT FACTOID Latinos do not need to pay for O/Care---they can get free healthcare any frickin' time they want it.

Obama's "latino enrollment" scam is a ruse to get votes by putting illegals into O/Care. NOTE WELL healthcare.gov is also a voter registration site. Tricky Democrats can easily plug in enrollees into their voter rolls.....and count them as votes on election day.

================================================

Here's how the tricky Dems work the enrollment/voter scam: O/Care's Oregon state exchange "accidentally" enrolled 4000 illegals

PASS THE WORD: This is a scam. Enrolling illegals was no accident. Obamacare web sites are also setup to accept voter registrations.

In Oregon vote-crazed Dems racked up 4000 votes (that we know of) to help them survive looming 2014 midterms).

BOOKMARK THIS Each state's Secretary of State is required to check into all cases of reported voter fraud. Course a Dem won't. But many states have Repub Secy's of State. They should be notified about illegals registering via O/Care.....and fraudulently plugged into Democrat voter rolls.

Medicaid is the endgame. If it pays one thin dime that dime will be paid back or any assets will be confiscated. I still think the whole scheme is to take what you’ve earned over a lifetime rather than pass any assets to ones progeny. After all, all property belongs to the state comrades.

The real problem is that this money would be spent on goods...and that means jobs.

The bottom line will be Madicare B...and will come right out of your paycheck. And what will these payers get for their money. NOTHING. It’s just another kitty.

I agree. Obamacare means laying out all your bank accounts neat and clean and government access to the same.

It’s not unaffordable if you don’t pay for it!

The hump you have to climb to go from parasite to self-supporting is getting ever higher.

It achieved its most important goal - leverage over the average yokel - so its stays right where it is no matter what.

“Unaffordable” for 99% while 1% of Obama’s peoples get a free ride.
That was the whole purpose of this presidency... to stick it to the hard working people while Laqueesha and her 12 kids get more free stuff.

No insurance and paying cash provides better care than medicare at places which accept medicare.

When more people figure out how much better the care is, Obamacare will probably drop in enrollment even further, and traditional insurance may become less common.

Unless the left can successfully mount legislation prohibiting hiring a doctor directly for cash (and absolutely they will try) we may return to how things were up through the early sixties.

The IRS is saying for a family of 4 it would be $20,000 for coverage. Myself it would be $10,600 BEFORE you get the FREE health coverage! Plus you do not get to see your doctor nor get the treatment you may need because the money saved from doing so goes to the democrat party insiders!

The way I heard it explained was that half of the uninsured haven’t even bothered trying to enroll, and 80% of the other half elected to not purchase a policy, for one reason or another.

Even by government standards, this program is an epic failure (at least in regard to stated, not actual, intent).

My co-payments under the state plan are $2 for doctor office visits and $3 for generic drug prescriptions - filled through the Walmart Pharmacy.

A sweet deal and I don’t have to pay a cent in health insurance premiums. It works exactly like Canada Medicare. I never see a bill.
