I really should put on my glasses when I read headlines like this, for a second I thought Romney had AIDS..moving on..I really really hope he does not run again, please, just no
Well, I gather Romney is not particularly liked here, but I do wish he had won rather than the diabolical community organizer in the White House now.
It’ll take a boatload to make up one complete brain. The GOP is truly working for the other side if they can’t find one decent candidate.
I just can't help myself.
He wanted it, in fact he believed he was the answer to a prophecy - that he was the ‘elder of Israel’ who would ‘save the Constitution’. He thought he had it in the bag and didn’t need to work for it.
Typical arrogant ‘pesthood holder’.
Now this is him trying to be relevant.
The problem with the GOP right now is they’ve somehow gotten collectively brainwashed that the American people want the GOP to be exactly like the democrats, but not as extreme.
Americans do not want more democrats.
That is nonsense, and it loses elections. We need to advocate for things other than “what the other side does, just not quite as badly”.
We need to be for American growth once again.
Growth. American businesses, and American science.
Stop sending American jobs to Asia. Bring them back to America.
Build up our own country, for a change.
Does Mitt want to lose as much as Pat Paulsen? At least Pat intended to be a joke.
Four leftists were picked to moderate the debates in 2012. Romney should have taken a stand and refused to debate with such a stacked deck. Instead, he folded.
Romney? No thanks... we need the following to run: Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rush Limbaugh, Scott Walker, Nikki Haley, Tom Scott, Ben Carson, Ronald Reagan (dead he could govern better than Obama), Marco Rubio or Matt Bevins the next KY senator.
No problem. He’s a lesser evil remember? Why the collective freakout?
People say that now. What happened last time?
If we do not collectively stop circle jerking around with Rand and Rick and the rest of the CINOs and settle on an actual conservative, spines will be cast aside again and we will have a repeat.
Forget the Ukraine nuke Mitt and all those RINOs
The GOP should dig up Bob Dole and run him too.
I think it's worse than that. He has "groupies," for lack of better word *cough*sycophants*cough* who are plainly deranged with a weird kind of level-headed deliberateness because they believe it is Romney's destiny. They deliberately, continuously frame the argument in very clear contexts:
1. They are the grown-ups and conservatives who won't vote for Romney are "children"
2. You're voting "for" the Democrat opposition if you refuse to vote for Romney, so you're a bad guy as well as a child
3. Romney's clear, documented, posted record of functional Democrat big-government, pro homosexual, pro abortion, pro global warming, anti gun, pro liberal activist judges and pro government-run health care advocacy, are invisible, irrelevant, not real, not true, take their word for it because they are grown ups and we are children.
Solid gold truth is this: The behavior of a candidate's core supporters tells you a lot about the candidate.
There's a demented, depraved kind of psychopathy going on, if you ask me. In 2012, that bastard connived to get good Christians, moral Americans, to "hold their noses" and vote for government-supported abortion and government-forced acceptance of open homosexuality, although they despise and shun both. That guy got good people to vote for depravity, PERIOD.
I say, "Nuts."
The thing to keep in mind is this:
Romney had his chance.
He won the nomination last time. He was our candidate. He had the nomination, and a very good Vice Presidential candidate too I might add.
And he LOST.
No way. Get out of the way this time Romney.
NO NO NO (What more can I say?)
“Christians, moral Americans, to “hold their noses” and vote for “
Christians should not have been shocked when they prayed to God to deliver them via a man who among other antiChristian activities, spent his own cash to help kill children via Planned Parenthood.
And he did not answer.
Who coulda saw that coming...
No, AIDS wouldn’t hurt as bad as Willard for the GOPe candidate...
Theres a cure for full blown AIDS..
theres no cure for the stupidity of allowing a full blown liberal destroy Conservative candidates once again..
You must have forgotten about wood-headed Republican and Independent primary voters in NH.
Challenging Her Cankleness for the Democraptic leadership in 2016?
“Hes got the money and the establishment suckups want to see it.
The other money mint is with Jeb Bush.”
I believe you have that right.
I think the next nominee will be Bush, Romney, Ryan or Santorum.
So the GOP loses no matter what?
“Well, I gather Romney is not particularly liked here”
I don’t think anyone is particularly well liked here.
You should check out some of the threads from the 2012 primary. It was brutal. Bachman, Perry, Santorum, Gingrich, Palin, Romney, Huntman, they were all pretty much portrayed as the spawn of Satan here.
If so, send a message. Put the dog's head in his bed.
Call the dog a martyr, sacrificed for the cause. Cuz if this sumbitch takes out conservatives again, then plays patty-cake with Democrats -- he deserves to be himself [fill in the blank]
I'm concerned he and some of his want another go at the Mormon white horse hero thing.
BUT he played nice with Obama, when what he needed to do was go after that commie hammer and tongs, relentlessly.
Whoever it is that runs -- needs to make this next election about Obama's multiple failures.
Obama ran against Bush. Let's return the favor.
Mitt’s new nickname is “Big Chief Stalking Horse”.
Don’t let his non-campaigning run for office fool you. He wants what his “brainwashed” father could never attain — the presidency.
The reason he didn’t campaign was that he can only campaign against conservatives. Liberals, socialists, communists and marxists are close friends and family to him. He would never campaign against them. Therefore, he could not say anything bad about Obama.
I’m not worried when the same team that blew the last runs is hired again.
I had never heard of Austin Barbour before, so I looked him up and just what I thought — he is Haley Barbour’s son.
For those who don’t know who Haley Barbour is, he is the former governor of Mississippi turned “super lobbyist” and is one of the most malign forces in the GOP. Right now, Haley Barbour is coordinating the push for amnesty for illegal aliens and greatly expanding the number of “guest workers” to please his corporate pay masters’ insatiable thirst for cheap labor.
The increasing number of children of politicians working as political apparatchiks is disturbing. It’s not something we have traditionally seen in America and resembles something out of a third world country like Syria or Iraq.
I agree. We had our chance to elect Romney last time. He won the primary. He was ready to go ... and what?
He folded. We do not need someone who folds that way. We do not need someone all fired up to win the nomination, but then who doesnt appear to give a flying frog whether they win the election.
Romney and Mitch McConnell are very much alike. Both ran/run slash and burn take-no-prisoner campaigns against their primary opponents, (Fellow Republicans), and then are pussy-cats wanting to be stroked and petted when running against the Democrats.
The lesson I take from that is simple. They really aren’t Republicans-in-name-only they are democrats-hiding-in-plain-sight, DHIPS.
The same candidate who has (along with Mitt's machine) been sending me e-mails and letters despite my cutting of all ties to the GOP. Their being a "Mitten" drops my enthusiasm for any candidates by at least 50% before they are even out of the gate.
I remember those threads. But even more odd, I remember the threads during the 2012 elections, when Mitt Romney was running. He gave some good speeches and many, if not most, on FR suddenly loved him.
Romney is the reason the diabolical community organizer is in the White House.
His strategy failed.
He bet his election that he could move to the left and pick up enough liberals to offset any conservatives he would lose thinking that most would have no other choice.
So we heard about gay boyscouts, the “health” of the mother, gay adoption, gun control that he liked, enhanced “revenues and fees”, RomneyCare, and compromise.
The result of that: the liberals said no anyway, and he’d already run off the conservatives.
His grand strategy failed. The failure lies at the doorstep of the general who approved that strategy.
Voter fraud didn’t help him either.
It is all his fault. He was the general.
He was supposed to cover every base.
If the enemy sneaks into the camp, it is not the enemy’s fault. That is what enemies do....what a good general plans for them to do. He institutes “force protection”.
Romney failed in so many areas that it is time to simply admit he was a failure. His plan failed, his personality failed, his lack of forcefulness failed, his protection of his own election failed.
A general is supposed to cover all those bases. He did not measure up.
Romney got a lot of votes, he’d be stupid not to use that to try to grasp some relevancy for as long as he can, but he ain’t running again, he’s priming the pump so he can pass the torch to his son who will be the next Governor of Utah.
Something I noticed about the pattern of comments on thos site about the Bruce Campbell impersonator. The big problem most people here had with romney wasn’t that he was a rino, its that he lost. Which kind of backs up the sports mentality of the american public, where everything has to be reduced to the level of some retarded football game.
We have some exciting candidates I think this time.
Cruz and Rand Paul.
I really think Romney will be old news and not a factor.
So many were holding their noses and voting that his inept campaign and loss just sticks in their minds as one big cluster freep.
When they say “loss” they mean everything about the entire situation: bad campaign, bad candidate, etc.
Thanks, I was waiting for this.
IMO he picked Palin because he thought that she would HELP him lose and then it wouldn't be his fault in public view. Watching him campaign there was little doubt in my mind that he planned to lose.
There is still a certain segment of people who don't want a woman. I was surprised at how many people I know (who aren't stupid) told me that a woman can't win. Of course, now we all know that Her Heiness is a shoo-in.
I think it took McCain and his advisors totally by surprise that Palin excited so many people and she almost dragged that rat (kicking and screaming) over the finish line.
And he didn't contest it and neither did the RNC despite the obviousness of the fraud. That should tell us something.
Maybe they're just going to discuss the latest fashion trends in magic underwear.
I recall seing a recent poll on potential Republican Candidates and Romney had a two to one advantage over the nearest competitor. Does anybody out there remember which poll this was? It was quite recent.
