Mitch McConnell is doing his best to walk back his comments about conservatives. He told the New York Times he intended to crush them everywhere. Now he says he was only talking about the Jim DeMint founded Senate Conservatives Fund and its candidates candidates like Ben Sasse supported by Paul Ryan, Mike Lee, Club for Growth, RedState, National Review, and others.
Actually, Mitch McConnell has been pretty open in the past about his contempt for conservatives. He has referred to conservatives and the outside groups they fund, as traitors, bullies, drunks, and fringe. He claims conservatives tear up every bar they walk into, and he wants to punch the tea party in the nose.
Those are his words. And he has been pretty consistent over time. Back in 2009, McConnells associates famously put James Dobson in a terribly embarrassing spot when they lied about Rand Pauls record. McConnell sent staff into Kentucky to defeat Rand Paul.
McConnell now says he only meant he wanted to crush the Senate Conservatives Fund, but back in 2009 and 2010, the Senate Conservatives Fund was the group standing with conservatives and Pat Toomey, Marco Rubio, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul against Mitch McConnells supported Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist, Bob Bennett, and Trey Grayson.
It is true that a number of McConnells remarks have focused on the Senate Conservatives Fund, but his remarks have also targeted groups like FreedomWorks, Club For Growth, and others. He is systematically targeting conservative organizations that do not follow the National Republican Senatorial Committees lead. Whats worse, he is enlisting a bunch of useful idiots on the right to do damage control for him and to protect him.

Eventually they all turn into Arlen Specter.
That’s all we need to know.
He’s a bug, and needs to be squashed.
After being a registered voting Republican for over 53 years, I ready to change to Independent, or would rather register as Tea Party, but don’t think that is an option here in Nevada.
FUMM!!
"On 05-05-14 we'll FUMM, FUMM, FUMM!"
(Sung to the tune of "On December 5 and 20 fum, fum, fum")
Gee...what does this say about Rand’s full throated support for him I wonder. Hope no one tries claiming the very Obamalike excuse “He didn’t know”.
Speaking of those evil ‘purist’ things called ‘principles’, I seem to remember a bunch of Freepers saying they did not matter much because lesser evil was acceptable.
How’d that work out for y’all? (and you know who you y’all are)
Traitors?
Hell we need to tell mitch the b*tch that he and the rest of the demoncrap jockstrap licking RINO’s are the real traitors.
FUMMc.
I’ll probably get flamed for this, but what is the point of giving the GOP the Senate in 2014 if McConnell is the new Majority Leader?
FU MC
No point at all. You won’t get flamed from me.
It’s just too bad people are to stubborn to admit the truth of it. I guess pretending otherwise is easier to face the day with. Only makes things worse though.
Gentlemen, it's time. Convictions, mouths, money -- all in the same spot. It's head-counting time.
And Mitch, we’ll have a word for you as well:
Unemployed.
I thought the conservative NGO's had applied for 501(c)3 status?
Then Larry O'Brien goes off on MSNBC about 501(c)4's for about 30 minutes in a screed some DummyRat showed me (to PROVE, see, that GOP'sters and especially Tea Party people are lying rat-scum), .....
.....and meanwhile I'm reading somewhere else (in a Rush transcript, I think) that the Regime did a bait-and-switch with the (c)3 applicants, offering them fair and fast approval of their applications IF they switched from (c)3's to (c)4's ...... which have more limitations politically and would hamstring TruetheVote and other Tea Party groups trying to ensure the 'Rats don't stuff ballot cans and steal Election 2016.
Can someone clear this up a bit? That the (c)4 thing is a switcheroo (IMHO) and that it was all about (c)3 status in the first place?
There's a piece in there someplace about shielding contributors from Regime harassment, auditing, searches of premises, etc., and indictment on bogus politically-motivated Regime-generated beeves.
At least 5 pro-Israel groups
Constitutional groups
Groups that criticized Obama administration
At least two pro-life groups
An 83 year-old Nazi concentration camp survivor
A 180 year-old Baptist paper
A Texas voting-rights group
A Hollywood conservative group was targeted and harassed
Conservative activists and businesses
At least one conservative Hispanic group
IRS continued to target groups even after the scandal was exposed
And 100% of the 501(c)(4) Groups Audited by IRS Were Conservative
There is NO EVIDENCE that a single liberal group went through the same scrutiny as conservative groups.
What the hell is wrong with this country to put up with this?
list from Dogbert41
What does a nongovernmental organization have to do with any of the above? Or is your position that the above is trumped if one Tee wasn't crossed or "I" dotted? Nixon talked about targeting his enemies with the IRS - he NEVER did it. It was still written up in the letters of impeachment.
Please comment of the list above - not some stupid MSNBC propaganda. My position is NOT that Republicans walk on water... no one is perfect - but that the above took place ONLY AGAINST CONSERVATIVES. (Oh, and I didn't excuse Nixon... did you?)
Everyone of them should be in jail.
Old Mitch needs to be turned out to pasture collecting his fat pension and forgetting about ever having a say in American government again. I’m surprised he hasn’t already switched over to the Democrat party or gone Independent...he left Republican Conservatism a LONG time ago!
Specter is dead, a gubernatorial appointee would be in the Senate.

Please Primary-out this guy in May. Please do not reelect Mitch McConnell.
