On Monday, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor stated that she believed that women and minorities had to crash the halls of power in order to change the dialogue in this country. She said that money was the obstacle to women and minorities having a say in government, adding, were going to have to work the political system at the highest level.
Sotomayor was speaking at the University of Washington, pushing her book, My Beloved Life. A student questioned if she was optimistic about the future of the country. She stated, Im very optimistic about the power of minorities to change the dialogue in this country.

Depending on what criteria you use, and what statistics you read, ‘whites’, ‘blacks’, and asians are pretty close as a percentage of world population. So I'm really not sure what a minority is anymore. Further, I don't think we should define people this way. I thought that was the goal.
To: BuckeyeTexan
my question is this : When the people of color have finally ascended into the majority status , will they care at all for the rights and concerns of the white minority ?

Why do you hate us so much, you privileged female of color?

Non-whites will become majority, but they will be in three pretty distinct groups: Asian, Hispanic, and black.
So they probably will have divergent views on how to screw us.

Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 22% of the Federal workforce.

Women and minorities lack power in government? Really?
Just tell me what groups are the main beneficiaries of government largess and at the expense of what other group??Let's see, we have a half black president, a LaRaza female justice, an attorney general who refuses to investigate voter intimidation complaints against "His People". Yeah , I'd say some groups lack a voice in this government. Not sure it's women & minorities though.

She looks like she is built to crash anything.
Just what kind of “minorities” is she speaking about???
Scots-Irish, Welsh, Swedes, Sicilians, Serbs, Swiss????
America ALWAYS was a nation of “minorities”, but until RECENTLY, these “minorities” always considered themselves AMERICANS first.
Or she talking RACE??? If she IS, that's RACIST, isn't it????
I really can't stand that left-wing, under qualified canting witch. “Wise Latina” my butt.
ANYTHING, EVERYTHING, and ANYONE connected with that racist, anti-American, anti-Christian imposter in the White House is as much a fraud as he is.
I hope Americans can take their country back someday and expel racists like Obama and Soto Mayor from their positions of power.

Well of course she's optimistic. When the 113th Congress took office, the Democrat Caucus, for the first time in history, did not have a white-male majority.

Replace “change” with “control” in that last sentance about “the dialogue” and you’d have her true feelings on the matter.

Not to mention the “disparate impact” proportionality of government employees. Obviously, since there is “disparate impact” in government employment, racism is involved.

will they care at all for the rights and concerns of the white minority ?Of course not. It'll be payback time. In places where whites are already the minority, such as the county where I live, I assure you, nobody cares about the rights or concerns of whites.

What a disgrace for someone in a robe to say this.
This country stopped being serious when it elected Clinton in 1993.
That was the beginning of the end for America. imho
