If the plane was shot down by an air force - the debris would be found immediately - too many people would know where it was.
If there was simple catastrophic mechanical failure - the plane/debris would be found quickly, and the transponders would not been have turned off.
That leaves the bomb/hijack/pilot suicide scenario the only options left.
There is some small probability of the pilots being in on it - due to no transmission of a struggle and quick turn off of both transponders.
Either the plane is sitting on a remote al qaeda airfield or it has crashed somewhere remote. The ‘authorities’ know the answer to this question, whether the plane landed or crashed - based on satellite and electronic surveillance/communication.
The authorities are not coming forward with the answer, but are allowing the ‘crashed and can’t be found’ theory to dominate the news. One thing is for certain - they know more than they are telling.
-—Leads me to a greater than zero probability that the plane landed somewhere, in my opinion.
“that jet made an intact ocean landing and has sank to the bottom” -DJ
Ok, possible.
But what about survivors and beacons/epirbs?
If it was an innocent accident, why no transponders?
Do you think intact water landing *and* hijacking?
Many different things could have happened, I prob think Hijack
Maybe pilot incapacitated, maybe another Flight 93. Anything is possible until the answers are found. Transponder?, has anyone thought of an electrical fire in communications circuit? I did notice a post that the transponder did not have to be turned off, just the dial changed to new code.
My analogy was only about post crash event.
Anything more from the fishermen that supposedly saw the jet flying low with landing lights on?
If it did sink just opening the door would rush in a flood of sea water if it could be opened with out side pressure. The cabin would have been flooded and you would have to been able to hold your breath until it was completely flooded, plus I’m sure their seat belts were fastened and would have to be exited! Hold your breath for 3 mins and see what you do, you suck in air fast to recover. In this case in 3 mins you would be sucking in water! All passengers and crew remain in cabin!
No debris No bodies.
There are some good Hollywood examples from the 40's.
Like that Air Ethiopia flight that wound up ditching just off an island reef?
