Ed Schultz on 2016 Race: Hillary Has All But Won - and Cheney Will Run
NewsBusters ^ | 12 Mar 2014 | Jack Coleman

Posted on 03/12/2014 4:11:11 PM PDT by mandaladon

No, "I'm not off my rocker," Ed Schultz told his radio listeners after making an off-the-wall prediction. Actually, two predictions -- that Hillary Clinton is a virtual shoo-in who will waltz back into the White House, and that Dick Cheney will cave to pressure from movement conservatives and run for president.

As for the first prediction, I vaguely recall many pundits saying much along the same lines ... back in 2007, followed by Clinton's highly-touted inevitability fading by the month after she was blinded-sided by an obscure senator from Illinois who could work a Teleprompter like none before him.

But when it comes to that second prognostication -- you'll sooner see Cheney run the 800-meter hurdles in the next Summer Olympics.

SCHULTZ: Now, I want to ask all of you a question. How would you feel, uh, this is a familiar voice now, this is a familiar voice. This is a guy who's been around a long time. And I'm just going to ask you listeners out there to just play with this idea a little bit. Really, nobody on the Republican side is jumping out of the box when it comes to the status of a Hillary, OK? The expectation of a Hillary, the experience of a Hillary Clinton, a for-sure candidate, almost a shoo-in to be president of the United States. I mean, I think that's how a lot of people are thinking about Hillary Clinton. I know that Joe Biden wants to run and there are some others out there as well, but let's face it -- this horse race might be over before the gun sounds.

But this voice right here, I think, for lack of a better term, is the dark horse in the race. Here it is --

He has to be kidding about Cheney. Hillary will not be a shoo-in, even though she has the inside track to the nom, if the Republicans choose wisely for a change.

if the Republicans choose wisely for a change.

They are talking about one term senators. We are going to lose and lose badly. At least we will have the Senate and House Thank God! The only way that we win is to run a governor who is current. Not Romney types who was out of office for a while.

Cheney’s health, age (but his health more than age), and long-time demonization by the Left guarantees he will not run under any circumstances.

No, “I’m not off my rocker,” Ed Schultz told his radio listeners …
Just how many were actually listening to hear that? Was it like a tree falling in a forest?

Dick, stay home. You've served enough and I thank you.

Hillary, stay home in hell. You've earned your place there.

Dick Cheney in 2016!

I’m probably not the only one here who did not foresee that.

It is good to know that he is such a specimen of good health that it won’t be a problem for him to be sworn in at age 75 to start his first term.

This Schultz guy really thinks outside the box.

Is Mr. Ed speaking from the rubber room? In my mind the Clintons are the epitome of white trash, and I would hope that most Americans have had their fill of them.

Save this for the post election compilation. They’re throwing everything they got at the most ridiculous prognostications their shriveled little minds can come up with.

Cheney, yeah, right. LOL.

Cheney’s health isn’t that great right now and I don’t think he could do four years. I would be glad if he could, but I don’t see that happening

Killary is toast...Benghazi will hang on her like and albatross. Look for F’n Kerry to run again.

Hillary is remarkably defeatable.

Dick Cheney (and I say this of an admirer of he and his family) will not run. The Dems would make soundbites out of stents and a firearm accident, for starters.

It's not worth clicking the following link, but I counted six other candidates on the stage with Ms Clinton in one of the last set of Democratic presidential debates.
Pt 1/12 Democratic Presidential Debate 11-15-07

I wouldn't be surprised if Ms Clinton, if she chooses to run for pres. in 2016, has as much competition the next time around.

Dick Cheney is 73 and on his second heart. He has his hands full breaking-up fights between his daughters. He has NO interest in running for POTUS.

Sgt. Schultz has been hanging out in Colorado sampling the legal weed, apparently.

Do not ask this guy to handicap your football picks. Cheney running for President in 2016, you got to be kidding. Cheney will be glad he is still alive in 2016, never mind running for President. If he did, with the stress and schedule he would be dead in weeks. I say this as someone who wishes Dick Cheney many years to come.
