I lived in Georgetown for two long years and a day.... I have flow in and out of Tamari Airport many times and as a courier for diplomatic pouch spend many a hour on the tarmac at this airport. If the plane can see the runway, then there was absolutely no problem at all. One runway airport, one airport country.
I was an air traffic controller. I am sure the aircraft could land with no problem, but walking off the job and leaving the airport unattended is a huge no no. It should be something they only do once. They should be fired for that.
I was an airline passenger. The controller should be fired.

Good thing, too, because how would the Wright brothers ever have landed without ATC (and a radio).
