Does the Central Intelligence Agency have a secret whistle-blower who has been trying to help the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence investigate his or her own agency? Thats a possibility that panel chairman Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) of California mentioned Tuesday on the Senate floor in her angry speech alleging that the CIA has illegally spied on committee computers.
At issue is how Intelligence Committee staffers obtained portions of a sensitive internal CIA study named the Panetta report, after former agency chief Leon Panetta.
Senator Feinstein in essence said that the Panetta report fell from the sky into the committees lap. Staffers flipping through millions of pages of digitized CIA documents, about Bush-era harsh interrogations of terror suspects, simply found the report via a CIA-provided search tool, according to the committee head.
We have no way to determine who made the internal Panetta review documents available to the committee.... Further, we dont know whether the documents were provided intentionally by the CIA, unintentionally by the CIA, or intentionally by a whistle-blower, Feinstein said.
Why is the Panetta report such a big deal? That requires a bit of explanation.
Since 2009, the Senate Intelligence Committee has been conducting a big survey of the harsh interrogation program. This began because members were concerned the interrogation techniques, which included simulated drowning, stress positions, and sleep deprivation, were more brutal than the CIA had led them to believe.

Your synopsis is well thought out and prioritized. Diane has nothing to lose, and since her latest attempt to restrict ownership of ‘assault’ weaponry went nowhere, she’s got an axe to grind. It seemed like a shoe-in. The lack of support for what was to be her signature piece of legislation baffled and humiliated her. At over eighty years old, she may as well go out in an altruistic blaze of glory, high on her horse of righteousness, Obots be damned!
It's no fun to be hoist on one's own petard.
Your opinion of Obama then is at variance with mine.
In private, Obama is a micro-manager when it comes to “Fundamentally Changing the United States of America.”
In public, he is whatever lie he can personify that day.
Destroying America is his lifelong ambition, and thanks to our Do Nothing RINOs, Obama has been very successful for 5 years.
“BTW, Feinsten had more backbone that all of the RINOS in the US House and Senate, IMHO, of course.”
Maybe so, bur just watched Ron Fornier on Kelly. He was basically saying that the Congress has failed for years to do its job of oversight on the Spy Agencies, and that they were complicit in leaking sensitive documents so the Agencies didn’t trust them. so now the Congress “finds out” that they’ve been spied on,( oh the horror of it all), so now they’re finally going to do their job, maybe. BTW, I wouldn’t trust that old Commie Fineswine as far as I could throw her, and I’d like to see what the NSA has on her and her hubby with respect to their “financial dealings” with the government. The old crow needs to go!

Holder may very soon “discover” that information.
“Holder may very soon discover that information.”
Yeah, and while he’s at it, he needs to take a good look at Paul Pelosi as well. Paul Pelosi and Tricky Dicky Blum (Difi’s hubby) have become obscenely wealthy dealing with the government. Did their wives help? As Sarah Palin would say, you betcha! When we get through with prosecuting people in government for treason, we need to go after the white collar criminals.
I like the way you think.
Right after the Trials and Hangings for Treason, we'll start a new round of Trials and Hangings on the Capitol steps!
She may be more worried about the CIA alleged whistleblower leaking than anything.
So, she’s pissed that the CIA spied on the committee she chairs. Does it bother her that they spy on the rest of congress? Does it bother her that the NSA spies on all of us?
The hated EXEMPT Congress cares ONLY about itself.
Violations of LAW, including by the EXEMPT,
and their very special EXEMPT Staff, are not a problem
to the EXEMPT.
Violations of the US Constitution, against other
Americans is no big deal to the EXEMPT, either,
or to their very special EXEMPT Staff.
The EXEMPT, the self-proclaimed above-”law” lords
serving King Obama, and who permit and encourage his
every antiAmerican action and antiConstitution tyranny
and every antiAmerican security abdication,
sure do loudly get their panties in a twist,
when any similar violation is against ... one of them.
, ..... until it is one of the EXEMPT.
I’m certainly no fan of Feinstein or Congress or our Elected Leaders in general. But the idea of intelligence operatives being able to blackmail and manipulate them is troubling.
Our congress people don't protect us (the people) from being spied on... why should we care if they're treated as shabbily as we're treated?
Are these the same folks who think the NSA should snoop on everyone including them???
I think someone wants to hang Americans who interrogate enemies of the old USA.
Lets see the same agency was able to leak e-mails about an affair that caused the Director to resign in disgrace and still not fight. This woman is in for a sh- storm and she will not come out of this well.
My prediction is she will drop this and not run again and go be President of a University as Holder and Brennen laugh.
We are in a very bad and dangerous place.
That is what myself and others were saying or implying. And that brings up, where was she when it was us citizens that were being spied on by her Democrat goons. It was only when she learned that her ox also was gored that she became indignant.
