Does the Central Intelligence Agency have a secret whistle-blower who has been trying to help the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence investigate his or her own agency? Thats a possibility that panel chairman Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D) of California mentioned Tuesday on the Senate floor in her angry speech alleging that the CIA has illegally spied on committee computers.
At issue is how Intelligence Committee staffers obtained portions of a sensitive internal CIA study named the Panetta report, after former agency chief Leon Panetta.
Senator Feinstein in essence said that the Panetta report fell from the sky into the committees lap. Staffers flipping through millions of pages of digitized CIA documents, about Bush-era harsh interrogations of terror suspects, simply found the report via a CIA-provided search tool, according to the committee head.
We have no way to determine who made the internal Panetta review documents available to the committee.... Further, we dont know whether the documents were provided intentionally by the CIA, unintentionally by the CIA, or intentionally by a whistle-blower, Feinstein said.
Why is the Panetta report such a big deal? That requires a bit of explanation.
Since 2009, the Senate Intelligence Committee has been conducting a big survey of the harsh interrogation program. This began because members were concerned the interrogation techniques, which included simulated drowning, stress positions, and sleep deprivation, were more brutal than the CIA had led them to believe.

The Buck stops at Obamas Desk.
Impeach Hussein Obama in 2014, PERIOD.
I don’t know that any of us knows enough about what’s actually going on...besides they’re all guilty. Of something.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
It is o.k. to spy on the sheep but not the politicians, a/k/a traitors, right?
I wonder if Feinstein believes that this is just the TIP of the iceburg. What else do they know? HMMMMMM?
That is exactly what I’m thinking. It’s no big deal until it happens to the Senate Overlords.
Hey DiFi. It all depends on who’s ox is getting gored. You celebrate fed agencies spying on us little people and now you’re indignant?
No. They are both very serious Constitutional issues.
That's the beauty of this mess.
The politicians who would normally have a legitimate Constitutional complaint have absolutely zero credibility on the issue. They've already sold their integrity, many years ago.
Hussein’s problem is that now, EVERY patriot is a “traitor” to his Islamic Marxist regime.
Some patriots at CIA will inform the Senate of his lawbreaking out of loyalty to the Constitution, others to avoid prison as would-be Collaborators once this ‘Mosque of Cards’ collapses.
We’ll know Feinswine has truly begun crapping her Depends when she publicly marches down to City Hall and renews her concealed carry permit.
Right now the leaks APPEAR (nobody is saying much on the matter) to address only the Enhance Interrogation Techniques employed by the Bush administration.
There are a bunch of people at CIA that are afraid of that information, whether it's simple making-a-mountain-out-of-a-molehill or something more serious.
Either way, they don't want the information outed to Congress. The potential exists that Congress didn't get truthful testimony in the past.
Most likely case:
* Obama ordered the CIA to spy on Feinstein.
* Holder provided FBI assistance to the CIA
* Feinstein Staff noticed loss of files on Computer and made a CYA Midnight Requisition of CIA Files
* CIA told Holder of “theft” of CIA files
* Holder and Feinstein had words
* Feinstein called Holder’s bluff and spoke for 38 minutes on the Senate Floor.
BTW, Feinsten had more backbone that all of the RINOS in the US House and Senate, IMHO, of course.

Dianne Feinstein Rips CIA For Spying On Congress. May Have Violated Constitution
As Issa said today this interference between Constitutional branches of of our government undermines the Constitution itself — tantamount to Treason. Whoever ordered it needs to be tried accordingly.
See my comment here....
Probably unnecessary. Senate staff was accessing computers set up by CIA to search all CIA records related to the matter in question.
CIA has a responsibility to monitor those computers to ensure classified information is not handled inappropriately.
I would not be surprise if Obama was oblivious, as he is on most matters.
I would have in their shoes, at that time in our history.
I would have gone totally Jack Bauer on them.
I'd take everything I learned at SERE and apply it in harshest possible way until I got what I needed.
