We could tell there were some horrific assaults going on in that house, said Chief Paul Nelson.
An arrest warrant provided new details about the alleged torture of two women that included waterboarding, two-hour long beatings, and forced sex.
One of the women, 29-year-old Rebecca Schaller, was found dead inside the home on January 28. When officers responded to the home at 715 Pierce, they said none of the eight adults or six children at the home seemed concerned Rebecca was lying dead on a bedroom couch.

A couple decades ago, the two sisters, Rebecca (29) and R**** Schaller (26) were removed from their mother's care and placed with their aunt by marriage, Charlotte Arms. Rebecca graduated from Burnet High School. Six years ago, Rebecca married Thomas Simon (31) in Burnet. January 28, 2014, someone in the house called EMS to report she wasn't breathing. Officals arrived to find her on dead on the couch - beaten, broken rib, two black eyes, burned face, earlobes slit (earrings yanked out?), various bruises, something wrong with her spleen and stabbed in the chest. Cops saying they were shocked in a follow up interview (not as reported above) everyone in the house acted like nothing had happened but that may or may not be exaggeration or the adults keeping the kids otherwise occupied. They're waiting on autopsy results but it was probably murder (duuuh). Thomas admitted he had fought with her.
Thomas, of Horseshoe Bay (half an hour from Burnet), has a record. So does Charlotte.
A few days ago, R**** (I won't post her name because the cops haven't officially released it) told the cops about the beatings and kidnapping so they removed her and her two kids (under 6) to a shelter. Supposedly, Aunt Charlotte was the mastermind of the abuse, waterboarding and kidnapping. The cops arrested Aunt Charlotte, brother in law Thomas and Walker Shapland (24).
Walker Shapland, graduated from Novice HS (a little spot in the road town a couple hours NW of Burnet). He used to work for the Dem Voice. He is reported to be rude and downgrading to female coworkers. There is a picture of him wearing some sort of uniform and a navy tatoo on his myspace - https://myspace.com/walkers1077/photos . Any idea what that uniform might be?
The face tatooed and pierced Aunt Charlotte has at least one adult child still living at home, Synthea Arms (22) who is also a BHS graduate and was a member of the Baptist church. Synthea is the one who gave the tv interview with the nose ring and orange shorts (fair warning at 1:15 http://www.keyetv.com/news/features/top-stories/stories/police-3-arrested-burnet-kidnapping-lasted-1-year-16658.shtml ) and says the alleged kidnapped woman (R****) was free to leave and they'd asked her to leave but that nothing illegal was going on. From another source, she was free to leave but Charlotte was going to call CPS on her if she took her two children.
There were 8 adults and 6 kids living in the house. Synthea speaks of hearing a pin drop in the kitchen from downstairs in the nursery but it's not a two story house and it's very highly doubtful there is a basement and from google it appears there is an addition to the rented house that may be a couple steps down. Neighbors say they heard screams from the house but didn't know what was going on. With all those people and kids who'd know. One of the kids' teacher says she never noticed any child abuse but that she did ask about the child's health.
some folks just merit hangin
Ma Bennett would be proud.....
This sounds like psychosis brought on by methamphetamine.
If America hasn’t hit rock bottom yet — I hate to think what rock bottom for America will be like.
