Threats to CT Police Escalate Following CT Cops Gun Confiscation Comments Cops Ask Pro-Gun Veteran to Help Cool Things Down
According to Cinque, Officer Joseph Peterson, who made comments in interaction on Facebook while off duty that he would "give my left nut to bang down your door and come for your gun " has been placed on 24-hour guard due to threats on his life. This information came directly from Police Chief Kevin Halloran.
Mr. Cinque told us that he had a two and a half hour "sit down" with the Branford Police Department on Tuesday. He said that the Branford PD was supposed to come out with an apology for Peterson's comments and wanted Cinque's endorsement of the apology in an attempt to cool things down.
"The first words out of the police chief's mouth were 'How can you help us with this?'" Cinque said. "They're getting killed over there. They said they can do nothing but deal with this."
Cinque's endorsement would not be automatic. "There are some things here that need to be addressed before I endorse the apology," he said. "Don't make the apology to me. The apology has to be to the residents of Branford and to the citizens of the State of Connecticut."
"If we are looking to tamp this thing down none of us need violence here," Cinque continued.
"We're winning this thing; we're winning this thing hard here," Cinque said, referring to the efforts to ignore unconstitutional and unlawful legislation that seeks to have citizens register their semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines.
"That's the last thing we need," he added, referring to violence.

Funny how the First and Second Amendments complement each other.
If anybody tries “kicking down my door”, they are likely to get killed. How is that a “threat”? It’s simply a statement of fact.
"Bless his heart"
” I applaud the efforts of patriots like John Cinque and others who have drawn a line in the sand, and unlike a certain occupant of the White House, don’t blink when the line is crossed.”
“.. has been placed on 24-hour guard due to threats on his life.”
In other words someone looked at him funny. All this gets him is paid time off to polish his jackboots.
He hasn’t been fired? No one with this sort of attitude should be policing the public.
Apology is not enough.
My answer would have been: Unless you can provide evidence that you, in your capacity as a chief of police, formally and publically OPPOSED the passage of Connecticut's new unconstitutional gun laws PRIOR to their illegal adoption, then there is NOTHING I can or will do to help you.
“How can you help us with this?”
Uh, you idiots got yourselves into it, get your own darn selves out.
Failing that, sooner or later, he will take someone's life.
He should surrender his badge and gun.
The Police can’t fix what the CT legislature broke.
What they CAN do, is make a clear statement that their responsibility to uphold the Constitution trumps the legislature’s UNconstitutional actions.
And therefore, they will NOT participate in any gun confiscation, intended by such a law.
I wonder how often the Branford, CT police department provides 24 hour guards for ‘regular’ people who have received death threats.
It seems to me a tough, highly trained police officer would be much better able to take care of himself following a few threats than, say, a battered wife whose psychotic spouse and his psychotic family have vowed to kill her.
But it’s a safe bet the Branford, CT police department would not provide 24 hour guard for such a woman.
Resist bad law. Resist penalties for resisting bad law.
This dirtbag (My apology to dirt & bags out there) needs to just tough it out.
Just imagine what would have happened had Joe/Jane Public made the same comments in a reversed role???
They would at Minimum arrested and charged with “threatening of police office” more likely they would have been “swatted”.
I say NO APOLOGY IS GOOD ENOUGH!!!
This shows what real cowards the cops are when you take away the badge and all the neat tactical toys.
Even worse - paid time off so that he and a couple of his buddies (aka “body guards”) can goof off, play cards, drink beer and polish their jackboots.
The only way to effect change, and leftists use this tool well, is to sue and to get people fired and marginalized. This town and state needs not to stop until one or both are done.
Nothing like a loss of money or job to have organizations change behaviors. Apologies mean NOTHING. Legally or morally, they are just window dressing.

Smoke & mirrors
And more lies from the left/nazis
I fully support his *Right* to spout off anything his stupid self likes on facebook, et al.
The fact that he is unable to differentiate the *other* articles of the BOR....is comical.
Neither his kids or wifey should not be subject to *his* idiocy and short-sightedness. So sad....too bad.
Cinque is now a folk-hero......Connecticut gun owners of all stripes are behind him 1000%. You better believe that the state police [Lt. Vance] are taking notice of these events, as well they should.
I'm glad the town of Branford is having to spring for his protection....hit 'em in the pocketbook.
+1 from here.
Kick down my door you tinhorn Gestapo and it will cost you a lot more than your left nut.
I wish I had the money...I’d hire a detective to follow him ...probably find him going to his police bowling league games and shoveling snow off the roof of his house....while he is on workman’s comp vacation. The pussy.
Diplomacy is the art of saying "Nice doggie!" while you look for a rock.
Reference the cop who shot the senior reaching for his cane in a routine traffic stop.
Keep the gun but put his bullet in his front shirt pocket, and he has to ask the chief if he can load it.
Sadly though, many/most dickless bullies manage to snag compliant little things who won't raise a fuss.
Then again, with hope springing eternal, maybe all this will bring her out of that shell and piss her off enough to shoot the bastard herself.
Somehow, it’s not a “threat” when a cop or government agent threatens to kick in your door and steal your property,
but it IS a threat when the citizen says he will defend himself and his property.
Since he offered, I’ll take him up on it. He can have my door and give me his left nut. And if he declines, I shall charge him with breach of contract.
God and Guns (Lynyrd Skynyrd) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4yX1PLCWZQ
Certainly, this may color the decision whether to release Peterson from his job ....that’s the best we can hope for in this maelstrom...once the PTB see the mess he created of his own accord.
LOL ...hope she has to go *visit* her mother for a while.
Let them have a taste of what it feels like to be concerned about having someone *kicking down your door.*
Firefighter Cinque....should be *unavailable* for a few days to let them *stew* for a while....what’s the rush?
Play this to its full advantage ...not be a useful idiot for the cops. I hope Cinque takes his s-w-e-e-t time. He’s gonna need a press agent B4 long.
These things take time....*internal investigation* and all that rot.
The Branford PD doesn’t have a rug or broom big enough to brush this under.
You’re right. Now that I’ve had my second cup of coffee, it’s Lexington Square, and the Bridge at Concord. How could I ever forget I could see that bridge from my wife’s hospital room when my daughter was born.
A few questions? Are his friends in the department guarding him with assault rifles? Do they have more than 10 rounds in their magazine? Why do they need this type of fire power against one intruder?
Now what could have happened at Lexington Bridge so many years ago? LOL!
This can’t possibly be drilled home often enough:
Apologies mean NOTHING. Legally or morally, they are just window dressing.
They are hiding in their mother’s basements now ...mailordering their steroids and having them delivered.
Still your point was well made. The missus and I have a trip to the area on our bucket list, and it will likely happen in the next three years.
My apology Chickensoup. Please excuse me while I jump out a window and run away screaming.
I don't think he would be able to honor the agreement...He has none to offer.
Wow! This really hammers home the sensibility and functionality of the Second Amendment. Thousands of law abiding gun owners, peaceful, yet very insistent this law goes far beyond “infringement”. The state government of Connecticut appears very small. That power is impressive.
Looks as if this is snowballing:
