Somehow, I don't think the media would care if this device were found in a room where, say, a group of college Republicans were meeting. Or Baptists. Or pro-lifers.
But Muslims?

Have a feeling they did it themselves. They love starting trouble...That’s what they do. That’s what they are.

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.
That's what they always tell us.

Two things are on the audio device: mumbling about getting “the devices we need” and the sounds of passing gas, in unison.

Weird.
The web page wan't permission to use my current location.
I decline.
It then tells me the article is "no longer available" for mobile devices.
(I'm on a Desktop computer).

They probably planted it themselves to score victimhood concessions..

Preposterous premise, the story (insofar as the written article goes).
They found it, sat on it for a year (publicity-wise) and present no proof that it is a listening device and present no desire to have people contact an investigative agency (FBI or otherwise) with pertinent information.
Not even going to analyze the doctrine of 'placing listening devices underfoot in carpet'.
Ooooo...look at all the listening devices I found!!! /s
To: SoFloFreeper
Ray and his friends felt violated because they instantly believed the tiny, golden, metallic object that they found on the carpet was an audio recorder. Lunsford is the Vice President of Student Affairs and said FIU police agreed it appeared to be a listening device. Lunsford said the Serenity Room was completely searched, but no wire network was found. FIU believes no one was receiving any audio.
They didn't take it apart to see if it really is an electronic device. It could be, I suppose, but it's not actually "hidden" very well.
You'd have to cram a battery, microphone, modulator, transmitter, and antenna in that thing.
No receiver was found anywhere.
Perhaps it's a prayer bead?
Or it's a victim flag.

There was a serious article MANY years back about us not being able to spy on mosques...I forgot who wrote the article...maybe Clark..
