THE IRANIAN teenager travelling on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 with a stolen passport had posted a chilling message to Facebook days before the jet disappeared.

Pouria Nour Mohammad Mehrdad had escaped Iran via Malaysia with big plans to travel onto Europe to begin a new life.

In his last post on March 4, the 19-year-old revealed that he was "feeling excited" about what lay ahead with pictures on his Facebook page clearly showing him in Kuala Lumpur.

Mehrdad had boarded MH370 bound for Beijing on Saturday and from there planned to travel to Germany. But he never made it to Beijing.

,.... Not amazingly chilling. In fact, outside of the hijacking contest, this isn’t weird at all. Still, he does look a little creepy

Feeling Excited

I'd be excited too if I had 72 virgins waiting for me.

Might well be nothing. Every tourist in Kuala Lumpur takes this exact picture. The towers are the biggest landmark in town. Kind of like posing in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

I’m am going to go out on a limb again and say the following.

This aircraft is going to be used in a major terrorist op against the US before the November 2014 elections in order to save the Dems’ butts.

The idea of going from Iran to China and being excited about it is nuts. I think his post is a red herring.

I'd almost interpret it that he was tricked into carrying explosive luggage which was triggered remotely, by somebody who hated him for defecting from Iran, and wanted to kill him (and other birds) with one stone.

Granted, that's far-fetched, but alternative stories don't make sense, either.

I saw that. Iran is a hop, skip and a jump from Germany (The base of Atta) and this kid is coming from Malaysia. There's just something wrong with this picture or so it seems.

What's the security like for this airline?

It’s been years since terrorists have blown up a plane — which suggests that terrorist organizations have been unable to recruit suicidal maniacs both willing to do such deeds and intelligent enough not to get caught in mid-flight with bombs in their shoes and underwear.

So maybe terrorist leaders have decided to try something new — such as bribing a pilot to secretly transport a passenger-filled plane to an obscure location. If the plane’s detection devices could be successfully disabled, the terrorists would then with up with a perfectly good plane at their disposal, a frightened world worried about hundreds of missing passengers, and a proven formula for carrying out similar operations in the future.

Is that so far-fetched?

This aircraft is going to be used in a major terrorist op against the US before the November 2014 elections in order to save the Dems’ butts.

Historically, the Republican Party has been seen as the "go to" party on foreign issues. The Democrat Party is usually seen as better on domestic issues. That is what the whole, "It's the Economy, Stupid" argument was about. When terrorism or foreign issues threaten, people tend to look to Republicans for leadership.

The missing airplane could be used to distract from Obamacare, though.

“What’s the security like for this airline?”

While I don’t know, it is likely to be — ‘just don’t let us see your weapon’ ... certainly nothing like in the US, Europe, Russia, China, or Israel.

Signs and lying wonders, per Scripture. Satan is hopelessly counterfeit, and one has to have faith to realize that the same power given to him to work lying wonders will be withdrawn forever at the appointed time. Then it’s curtains for him and his children.

Sort of. The plane needs a mile long runway to land. How many “obscure locations” have mile long runways? The whole ‘terrorists stealing the plane’ scenario doesn’t really work in my mind.

Depends on the gross weight. 110,000 pounds of difference for landings under 5000 ft at sea level.

“110,000 pounds of difference for landings under 5000 ft at sea level.”

Do you think terrorists could build such a runway, however long required, and manage to keep it secret? It seems possible to me, but pretty improbable. Then again...

They don't only need a suitable runway if they ever intend on flying the aircraft again.

If they just want to land someplace there are probably many locations they can use. But if they want to fly the aircraft again there are some things to consider in addition to a suitable runway.

This aircraft holds about 31,000 US gallons of fuel.
They would need enough fuel to fly to the intended target and a way to deliver it to the aircraft.

They might also need different types of ground equipment to get the engines started. Someone with expertise in that area would know what is required to prepare the plane for take off.

These considerations make me think that if it is a hi-jacking with intentions to refly the aircraft that there is a well funded rogue organization with access to a runway, fuel and facilities involved. Or perhaps even a rogue government is involved and ready to provide covert support.

“They don’t only need a suitable runway if they ever intend on flying the aircraft again.”

Right now, the Pennsylvania (flight 93) scenario seems most plausable to me. I think everyone getting on a plane these days understands that if the plane is hijacked, nobody is getting out alive. The days of hostages sitting meekly and surviving are long over.
