Put the Sex Back in Sex Ed
Time Magazine ^ | 3/13/14 | Camille Paglia

Posted on 03/14/2014 7:32:15 AM PDT by punknpuss

When public schools refuse to acknowledge gender differences, we betray boys and girls alike. Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men.

The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease. Boys need lessons in basic ethics and moral reasoning about sex (for example, not taking advantage of intoxicated dates), while girls must learn to distinguish sexual compliance from popularity.

Common sense sex education is missing in this nation and Paglia defines what's wrong. Read the whole article when you get the chance. I don't always like Paglia's views but I think she's spot on here.

I think she's a closeted Christian mom.

But certainly, my favorite lesbian atheist.

Camille Paglia has always been a voice in the wilderness.

My generation of baby-boom girls boldly rebelled against the cult of virginity of the Doris Day 1950s, but we left chaos in our wake. Young people are now bombarded prematurely with sexual images and messages. Adolescent girls, routinely dressing in seductive ways, are ill-prepared to negotiate the sexual attention they attract.

For some reason, she's a Democrat, but I never got the sense she was for party above all.

While Miss Paglia's own lifestyle is controversial, she has always been spot on, in recognizing the absurdity of much of the Feminist delusions, which always ignore the actual interests of the feminine woman.

Camille understands the real power & importance of femininity, and has written some very strong condemnations of those denying the basic realities of sexuality.

Camille’s politics are as confused as her hormones. She takes surprisingly conservative viewpoints on many things, but votes for Green Party presidential candidates deviating only to vote for Obama in 2008. She is a registered Dem who says she hates what the party currently stands for. WTF?

[ Teach biology and stop playing political sex games. ]

That is the problem with Radical Feminists, it is all political, they want to destroy gender as a concept or things, but that is like destroying a LAW of nature.

Now if they were really willing to destroy “Gender” as a concept, they would be funding private spaceflight so they could start an offworld coloniy somewhere where they could genetically engineer an asexual gender-less “neo-human being” that wouldn’t have gender, but that would involve them leaving the rest of us here on the earth the hell alone and they all share the progressive gene that forces them to constantly meddle in the affairs of others...

So that sure as heck ain’t gonna happen... Because that may require them to actually work for their goal rather than complain loudly about how they want to force the wolrd to conform to them and not actually get some dirt under their manicured symbol of male sexism fingernails....

That’s what sex ed was about in my day.

Teach the girls not to get pregnant.
Teach the guys not to get social diseases.
