Yesterday South End restaurant Club Cafe announced that it would no longer serve Sam Adams due to the brewer's association with the parade. In an open letter on its facebook page Club Cafe stated that they were "disappointed that Sam Adams does not understand that the organizers of the St. Patrick's Day Parade continue to demonstrate that they do not respect LGBT Irish Americans by excluding LGBT members of this community from openly marching in the St.Patrick's Day Parade."

This morning Sam Adams released a statement that said, in part "We share these sentiments with Mayor Walsh, Congressman Lynch and others and therefore we will not participate in this year’s parade."

Don’t you all understand? St Patrick’s whole mission was to promote anal sex, wasn’t it? Oh, wait; that was Boy George....

Nope, no Yuengling. Drank that in college in the late 70s because it was 99 cents a 6 pack.

Here’s the story of st Patrick. It is a true story:

http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=89

And he is who is honored on st Patrick’s day. And Catholics believe that he lives, as Jesus teaches, after death, sharing in His resurrection, and tgat he, st pat, can speak to and appeal to Jesus in prayer and petition, and that there is a blessing over this parade.

Here is what the church says about homosexuality:

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s2c2a6.htm

St Patrick helped the Irish. He led them out of paganism into the light of faith. Not even all the drinking can eradicate that. He saw worse pagan worship than the mayor and Sam Adams Beer co are exhibiting here

That they think they are bigger than the faith, that’s pride. They are ignorant of history that they’re doomed to repeat

They are worshipping money and earthly power. I won’t buy their beer, and I’m glad to be of Doyle ancestry and not of Walsh, no offense, and I’m sure there are as many faithful walshes as Doyle’s, its just a fleeting sentiment today

But whatever I do, it will be nothing compared to what they’ll have to explain one day, using homosexuals and their misguided power play in order to gain power, and mis using a great saint to do it

They are the pagans he himself converted and they are completely idiotic and likely as ignorant of st Patrick, his life and influence and true power as any green beer drinking idiot

Up until very recently, St. Patrick’s Day was not a big deal in Ireland itself:

In modern-day Ireland, St. Patrick’s Day has traditionally been a religious occasion. In fact, up until the 1970s, Irish laws mandated that pubs be closed on March 17. Beginning in 1995, however, the Irish government began a national campaign to use St. Patrick’s Day as an opportunity to drive tourism and showcase Ireland to the rest of the world. Last year, close to one million people took part in Ireland ‘s St. Patrick’s Festival in Dublin, a multi-day celebration featuring parades, concerts, outdoor theater productions, and fireworks shows.

I don’t always drink beer, but when I do, it won’t be Sam Adams.

There is something bad wrong with this country when perverts have this much power over private businesses.

Happening more and more!

Decent, normal people need to start saying "enough is enough" as a group.

Isn’t this the same people that ran a commercial deleting the words “Under God” from the pledge?

I’m still trying to get an answer from these gay groups, just what exactly does the St. Patricks parade have to do with sexuality but so far I’ve gotten no reply. There’s different types of sexuality but for some reason gays feel the need to be obnoxious about theirs.

They love to strut their perversion in any public parade. The reason for the parade is not important.

Christ with me, Christ before me,
Christ behind me, Christ within me,
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ at my right, Christ at my left,
Christ in the fort,
Christ in the chariot seat,
Christ on the deck,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks to me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
— from the prayer of St. Patrick

This is a beautiful prayer. Maybe the organizers of the parade should make it mandatory that everyone prays it before the parade starts. I bet a lot of people would drop out before saying this prayer.

The big boys have been buying the locals. Shipyard Brewing Co is, IIRC, a Miller-owned operation, even though they are hands off on the recipes and local management.

Boston Beer Company is, as far as I can see, a "big boy" of its own right.

You don’t want to know what that sediment is, at the bottom of the Weissbeer.

From 2002

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/documents/crime/beer-boss-apologizes-radio-sex-stunt

We can't stand wormy little corporate titans like Jim Koch, chairman of the publicly-held Boston Beer Company, which distributes Samuel Adams products.

As TSG first reported, the 53-year-old Koch (pronounced Cook) was the so-called Grand Marshal of the "Sex for Sam" stunt that got radio shock jocks Opie and Anthony canned. In fact, Koch was actually present in WNEW-FM's Manhattan studio and played a key role in the public sex contest--though he and the beer company didn't admit that until TSG obtained audio clips from the controversial August 15 show.

Still don't drink it.

Well, not a big deal, if you don’t think honoring a great man with thanksgiving to God and solemnity as opposed to commercialism and alcohol sales is a big deal

The commercialism is the problem

March 19th is a very holy day in the Church, honoring our greatest Saint

But you would have to look it up to find out what it is and who it is we will celebrate. And tgere are no lobbies clamoring for takeover because commercialism hadn’t crept in

Dublin should’ve kept it ‘no big deal’ just mass like every other saints day
