Too bad they took this stance. I used to like their beer. The real Sam Adams is rolling in his grave.

So it’s ok for the restaurant and Sam Adams to discriminate against groups they have a moral disagreement with? Why can they do this, and not Christians?
To: reegs
Drink local. As local as possible.
Support your local brewpub, avoid crappy corporate beer of any kind.
I don’t eat ANYWHERE the owner is not on site running the place; same for breweries.

Never drank it to start with.
I believe the reason they whimpered down so quickly is that their market segment is metrosexual hipsters, so....
Good to see they have the testicular fortitude of a knat and get scared by queers and other protected minority groups.
Way to buckle and bow to the PC police Sam Adams!

Are gays TRYING to be the most hated people on the planet? They claim to be discriminated against, whine that straights don’t approve of them. Then they force themselves where they’re not wanted and destroy everyone else’s fun.

What would St.Patrick do if he ran across a pack of LGBT’s? I think he would drive them out like the snakes that they are.

Boston Beer Company makes good beers. I am not going to change that opinion just because they do something I don't like.
That being said, if they want to make it a point to get political, I won't be drinking anythinig from them.
There are far too many great options on the American beer scene.
Dogfish Head, Troeg's, Victory, Brooklyn, Stone, Great Lakes, 21st Amendment, Southern Tier, Rogue, New Belgium, Bear Republic. I don't know anything about the political or social leanings of these breweries, and I hope they keep it that way.

You mean there aren’t enough manly straight irish guys in Boston to boyott Sam Adams? Too bad.

The owner of Sam Adams, Jim Koch, is a real douchebag, and I don't say that lightly.
In 20002002, the company sponsored a radio promotion called "Sex for Sam", in which WNEW radio hosts Opie and Anthony encouraged couples from various states to have sex in notable public places in New York City. On August 15, 2002, a Virginia couple was charged with public lewdness after attempting to have sex in a vestibule at St. Patrick's Cathedral

What is it with corporate America and the gays? Did the gays put themselves on the coporate boards of major corporations? I hope the “fighting Irish” live up to their reputation as fighters. Stand up to these totalitarians.

I took the time to use Sam Adams "contact us" link and let them know I am no longer buying/drinking their beer because of their St. Patrick's Day Parade stance.
They responded back with a "so sorry you feel that way" email. They equivocated by saying they need to support their Boston community (what, is all of Boston homo?) and they're still on good terms with the St. Patrick's Breakfast Council or whatever. So I sent back:
You should have said this publicly instead of making it look like you support those who wish to turn a non-political parade into a "promote-my-lifestyle" propaganda issue.
Instead, you let those who wish to make everything about their own political agenda dictate your corporate philosophy. You think you took a stand. Instead, you folded like wet cardboard. Shame on you.
