LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Former Manson Family member Bruce Davis, who was sentenced to life in prison for two 1969 murders carried out with other members of the cult, was granted parole on Wednesday by a California parole board, although it was not certain he would be freed.
Davis' parole must still be affirmed by California Governor Jerry Brown, who reversed a similar decision by the same board last year, saying that the 71-year-old convicted killer remained a danger to the public.

I think that it is great that he is a born again Christian. I hope that he can continue being a witness of the Gospel to those in prison, and can share in their situation as a fellow prisoner.
God can forgive anyone - even Charles Manson (or his followers). Me? Probably not. And even if I would/could forgive someone of something, doesn’t mean I don’t want justice on this earth served.
I don’t know whether he’s sincere in his beliefs or not, but either way, he should stay in jail for the duration.
Now they should charge him for “room and board” for all those years he lived in one of OUR houses, ate our food and etc.
Walter Lippmann, in “Public Opinion” said politicians preferred either to do a large number of small things for a large number of people, or, to do something for an individual so obscure that the fact they took notice at all is a glowing sign of magnanimity. You’d think, though, that after Dukakis got so badly hurt by Willie Horton they’d think twice about letting convicted murders go.
As you may recall, Dukakis was a shoo-in for president. But as governor he’d been giving weekend furloughs to men serving life for murder. Convicted murderer Willie Horton would leave prison on Friday nights and check back in on Sunday night. All day Saturday and Sunday he was murdering people.
I guess “life in prison” means 45 years in the California Penal System.
I wonder when Charlie himself gets out?
When does “life” mean “life?” Never in the legal system.
This case, and other cases, demonstrate why “life in prison” doesn’t mean what is stated. Sooner or later almost all of these “things” are released back into society. At our peril.
The death penalty is the correct answer to those who murder. By their actions they have forfeited their right to live.
This may sound draconian to some, but IMHO, capital punishment ought to be on the table as an option for prosecutors for any crime in which the victim would have been justified resisting with deadly force.
In such cases, it is the criminal who has openly declared the fruits of the crime were of a greater value than their own life. Let them reap that harvest.
Everyone sentenced to death row, even if reprieved, winds up be a born again Christian sooner or later.
He’ll still be a ward of the state at that age.
Steve Grogan, a Manson Family member who was convicted of murdering Shea at Manson's direction, was released in the mid-1980s.
How can 2 people be convicted of the SAME murder? Not contributing TO the person's death, but actual murder?

Manson had several kids. So did other family members having orgies in the commune.
People aren't supposed to talk about them today.
