Not Ready for Hillary

This is the place for the Sister Souljah moment. The party has to find a way to signal to voters that, contrary to their expectations, the GOP will not govern as though it is in the pocket of corporate interests. That does not mean Republicans should embrace the Democratic party’s regulatory regime or buy into the false idea that one’s attitude to business is revealed exclusively by how many government agencies one creates to boss it around. After all, the Democrats do not simply regulate business, they subsidize it as well. Look at Obamacare’s individual mandate, a boon to insurers, or Dodd-Frank’s maintenance of “too big to fail,” a boon to big banks. Washington Democrats may spend half their time regulating business, but they spend the other half providing rents to businesses, at least those with high-powered lobbyists once employed by the Clinton administration.

The Republican party, unfortunately, is just as guilty of this sin as the Democratic party. What is called for, then, is an admission of the GOP’s past wrongs, a full-throated renunciation of the old practices, an unequivocal promise that a Republican administration will treat people equally, regardless of how much money they spend on lobbyists, and a reform agenda that seeks to embed these virtues in the law. All of this could be combined with an attack on the faux-populism of the Clintons; their folksy rhetoric has stood them in good stead for a generation, during which they have amassed an impressive record of clientelism that will make it difficult for them to counter a GOP assault on this front.

I have given upon Big business. I feel like the dutiful wife who felt she had a perfect marriage and found out that it was a sham when she caught her spouse cheating. This experience with amnesty ha taught me a lesson. As conservative we have accomplishe practacllynothing other than lowering their taxes. Every time we try to accomplish something else stopping gay marriage, amnesty lowering spending the corporations, and their media,stand in the way. Inow believe they should pay their damned taxes. Bot because they are rich but because what is happening in this country is their fault more than anyone else.

LOSER ALEX SINK'S QUID PRO QUO---test-marketing Hillary's 2016 message

ITEM Sink took a clear position WRT O/Care----she never voted for it but said she would go to Congress to fix it.

ITEM The week before the election, Bill Clinton starred in robocalls that went out to local Democratic volunteers.

ITEM over a half-dozen lock-stepping House Democrats in league w/ the Clintons emailed fundraising appeals on Sink’s behalf.

ITEM Sinks's "O/CAre fixit" position is Hillary's O/Care position exactly.Read on.

REFERENCE---Hillary Clinton insists O/Care is too important to “turn the clock back.”
The Politico ^ | March 5, 2014 | David Nather / FR Posted by 2ndDivisionVet

In a question-and-answer session following a lecture at UCLA, Hillary Clinton suggested she’s open to different ways of achieving the health law’s goals.

Hillary praised Arkansas — the state where she and her husband rose to political fame — for carrying out a new approach to expanding Medicaid coverage, by using the federal money to buy private health insurance for more than 100,000 low-income residents.

Hillary Clinton called the Arkansas move, spearheaded by Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe and a Republican-led Legislature, a “brilliant approach” that allowed the state to increase health coverage despite GOP concerns about adding more people to the traditional Medicaid program. The Arkansas House approved the plan’s renewal Tuesday...(Excerpt) Read more at politico.com ....

Too bad about Florida, Hillary---back to the drawing board.

Even if Hillary manages to escape the O/Care stigma, she is toxic ----b/c lock-stepping Dems are super-glued onto Obamacare ......

BACKSTORY In 2009, retiring Arkansas Rep. Marion Berry presciently warned that ObamaCare was setting up Democrats for a huge 2010 midterm defeat; just as “HillaryCare” led to Democrat loss of 54 House seats in 1994.

Obama scoffed at such concerns; he told Berry, “Well, the big difference here is you’ve got me.”

SO MUCH FOR O'S EGOTISM 2010 Republicans went on to win 63 House seats and six Senate seats.....the largest swing to Repubs in the House since 1938. So Obama was right---the difference was him. ROTFL.

On to 2016.

================================================

BTW, Obama did not invent the term---it was Hillary Clinton who originally used the wonderfully reassuring “if you like your plan, keep your plan” a phrase that helped Obozo get reelected........and the talking point that Obama relied on during his fight to push Obamacare through Congress on an historic straight party-line all-Democrat vote.....

NOTE Hillary's 2007 campaign website was unearthed by America Rising. America's Rising found written on the website under "HILLARYCARE"---AKA Hillary’s American Health Choices Plan---the phrase: “if you have a plan you like, you keep it.”

VIDEO of Hillary saying, "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

http://burstupdates.wordpress.com/2013/11/15/hillary-2007-if-you-like-your-plan-you-can-keep-it/

See a smiling Hillary (above) in 2007, saying: “You can keep the doctors you know and trust. You keep the insurance you have. If you have private insurance you like, nothing changes, you can keep that insurance.”

Mmmmmmm.....I GET A WARM AND FUZZY FEELING OVER THIS Bill Clinton endorsed Alex Sink and starred in her robocalls----but he's still the kiss of death---sucking up for his and Hillary's squalid 2016 ambitions.

Fact remains, Florida is a scab that wont heal WRT Democrat's presidential ambitions---- b/c of the Gore loss to Bush over a hanging chad. The USSC was deployed due to the legal brilliance of Bush SoS James Baker---who outmaneuvered Gore's people at every turn. The Dems ploy is to count and count until they have the votes to win----the Supremes ordered the count to stop.

========================================================

I do believe Billy-Boy---paranoid over Hillary's chances--- stepped in it bigtime when he advised Obama to keep his promise---to let people keep their plans.

Now, more than ever, the electorate is focused on the blunders of Obamacare........ which preceded Hillarycare.

You're right to give up on Big Business. Big Business loves Big Government: regulatory red tape is primarily an impediment to entry of competitors into the market. Any business big enough to have its own legal department and in-house accountants, rather than hiring accountants as contractors and having a law-firm on retainer, is happy with onerous regulations, particularly if their lobbying arm was able to shape how the regulations are onerous, because they keep upstart small businesses from competing with them.

Read Luigi Zingales's A Capitalism for the People, paying particular attention to the sections on regulatory capture.

The question of taxing businesses is more subtle: as long as dividends are double taxed (both as corporate profits and as individual income to the shareholder) I'm highly sympathetic to corporate tax avoidance by all legal means available.

The problem is that the LEADERSHIP of the RINO part of the GOP is in the amnesty/job-killing pocket of “big business”.

As in ALL IN!

“I'm highly sympathetic to corporate tax avoidance by all legal means available.”

Th problem with that is that the less corporate income tax they pay the more liberal they become. Then you add on top of that government contracts, subsidies and all of the other stuff Dem's can do for them we do not stand a chance. They are conservative only as far as far their pocket book. We simply have to respond to their back stabbing and duplicity and raising their taxes is probably the best way.
