U.S. officials announced plans Friday to relinquish federal government control over the administration of the Internet, a move that pleased international critics but alarmed some business leaders and others who rely on the smooth functioning of the Web.

Pressure to let go of the final vestiges of U.S. authority over the system of Web addresses and domain names that organize the Internet has been building for more than a decade and was supercharged by the backlash last year to revelations about National Security Agency surveillance.

The first thing I expect to see from this are taxes, fees and imputations that will be added to our respective internet associated bills so that the third world filth of this world can get paid.

Sure, we spent millions creating it for the military. Then we allowed private use of it which created a whole new economy. Now let’s give it away! Hey how about to China? They have a great record on free speech!

ormer House speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) tweeted: “What is the global internet community that Obama wants to turn the internet over to? This risks foreign dictatorships defining the internet.”

The North Korean Internet..how special/.

I can’t someone in Congress is not going to step up on this. It’s treason straight up. And please don’t answer telling me the country’s already gone and I should just suck it up, that’s never helpful.

The point is:

obumbler has long wanted to control political internet content.

Our laws and the Constitution make that difficult.

So turn it over to someone else and let them do it from overseas.

At that point, our courts and congress have no power to uphold freedom of speech.

When will the weenies in congress and the national press wake up and kick this slime ball out of office?

O’Reilly argues against the overtime rules while still championing the minimum wage hike. The idiot makes you dizzy listening to him.

And don't forget censorship.

What are the chances of the development of a shadow internet beyond the control of government and its henchmen?

Not just Internet taxes. Wait until Obama rams his Climate Change policy through. On top of ObamaUnCare taxes. Then inflation will soon kick in. People have no idea about the misery that is coming. But rejoice because we have homosexual marriage, that's all that matters (to liberals).

Carter gave away the Panama Canal. Obama evidently want to make sure that he eclipses Jimmy’s abysmal record in every possible measure.

Nothing to do now but set about creating a new inherently secure internet NOT controlled by government.

I can’t someone in Congress is not going to step up on this.

We have one weapon, and that is our $$$. Identify and boycott the companies that support leftist causes to the best of our ability.

This is something we can do, now. The question is, will we? Or, is that Corvette or weekend at the movies more important?
