U.S. to relinquish remaining control over the Internet
The Washington comPost ^ | March 14, 2014 | Craig Timberg

U.S. officials announced plans Friday to relinquish federal government control over the administration of the Internet, a move that pleased international critics but alarmed some business leaders and others who rely on the smooth functioning of the Web.

Pressure to let go of the final vestiges of U.S. authority over the system of Web addresses and domain names that organize the Internet has been building for more than a decade and was supercharged by the backlash last year to revelations about National Security Agency surveillance.

It seems that the Great Bloviator has difficulty getting good people on his show anymore. Nobody of any substance or self-respect is willing to put up with him.

He has clearly “held back” from criticizing Obama and is always giving him “the benefit of the doubt” in hopes of getting the big interview. His talking points are generally insightful and informative, but the rest of his show is mostly boring and predictable.

. “But rejoice because we have homosexual marriage, that’s all that matters (to liberals). “

Believe it or not, that is also what matters to a lot of Conservatives.

I doesn’t bother me all that much. I can live without it. Some adjustments will need to be made but it is not a necessity. Besides, I get T3 access through my workplace. I just won’t have the luxury of working from home if I give up high speed access if it becomes overly taxed or unaffordable..

obumbler has long wanted to control political internet content. Our laws and the Constitution make that difficult. So turn it over to someone else and let them do it from overseas.

Romney would have been just as bad, which is why I voted independent.</sarcasm>

“When will the weenies in congress and the national press wake up and kick this slime ball out of office?”

When H@!! freezes more solid than the ice around the global warming research ships.

Call both the GOP and Dem senators. Keep up the pressure. While this flight 370 ruckus is going on, ozippy is getting one more week of treasonous acts accomplished under the radar. He's going faster and faster with his pen and phone as his lame duck time is running out. Sick to death of this traitor.

Let's DO something. Call today or Monday. Silence is unacceptable.

Exactly! This is what drives me nuts, our acceptance of this crap. Used to be FR could elect a candidate single-highhandedly or stop government action with calls & emails, now everyone says "Oh well, too late". I still call but maybe should do more of what you're doing and rally the troops.

I think the government's greatest weapon at this point is elections, they insist we focus on the future and let those already in office off with a free pass. We need to make the incumbents accountable before it's too late.

Want a domain name? An internet address? Access to the internet?

Now you have to deal with a UN tribunal to gain access, and people from places who hate Americans with a passion, all due to the fact that idiots gave up control of a communications system that WE AMERICANS created.

Pure * insanity.

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and take the blame for not being clear, but I agree with you. That was the point of my post.

Just look at Free Republic and other sites where conservatives meet to get news that the media won't print. The left knows the internet is our main source of communication and talk radio. We know which sites we can trust and which we can't. I'm sure there will be regulations and taxes, but I worry about the regulations the most. The left will blame whoever is running the Internet for any problems. Dictators can stop the truth of uprisings like Venezuela, Ukraine, Syria...to be known, as well as other crimes against the people. Certain people will control all truth. I imagine anyone trying to communicate outside their rules will have there doors knocked down by the Internet swat team.

O has such power and can share it with evil nations. He knows his time is running short in office and has to move fast. People are turning on him. He just said something about having little time to get things done. It's no wonder the NSA is so important to them. Keep the people boxed in and under control.

My husband was going to buy me a ham radio or the ones you can use through a satellite, but you have to get a license to use the satellite. The left already has all the media, except talk radio, but if we can't keep the IRS off our backs, how do we stop the FCC from controlling that too.

Maybe I'm being too....? Regardless, I'm getting a radio, if nothing else, for the fun of it.

Unfortunately, the UN is over 80% OIC countries, muzlims. It started out as a very good and lofty idea however it quickly failed. You can see that in every one of their pronouncements against Israel.

Every step of the way it is the west pouring cash into these backwards nations.

OPbama is a muslim at heart seeking to dimininish America and the west in every way.

This is just another example. Once you put all the pieces in place the picture is overwhelmingly “ Screw America! and you Screw the West!”
