Planned changes to the Republican Party's presidential selection process are part of a rebuilding process that will strengthen the GOP brand and hopefully make its presidential nominee more competitive in 2016, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus told California Republicans on Friday, calling the GOP's current primary process "a complete disaster."

If the RNC picks the moderators rest assured the moderators will not differ one bit from those selected by the MSM or the DNC. Likely they will choose from a list provided by the DNCMSM.

Coming from the RNC this suggests they think they have found a way to eliminate conservatives from contention.

WINNER!!!

I read the title and glanced at the article.

I figured it would be about the elections this year, and they were finally going to let conservatives/Republicans choose their candidates by not having open primaries.

So they know there is a mid term election this year?

Why are they working on the 2016 race when they have a lot of work to do for the election this coming November.

Sure have less Presidential debates, and don’t let Candy Crowbait and Woofie Blitzer be the moderators, get CONSERATIVE moderators.

If they want strong republican moderators, use Hannity, Rush and Coulter. And a Tea Party Movement guy/gal plus a couple of FR members. I could recommend several...

What they should do, if they ever want to win another election, is work on voter fraud, from ACORN to the Soros vote counting machines in several states to the millions of illegal insurgent alien criminals that they let vote.

Idiots, they love the voter fraud go figure...

I’m looking forward to the rest of the right catching up to where a few of us are now. Then completely ignoring how they fought us tooth and nail.

The dog is about to come off it's tail from all the wagging. It's not far fetched at all to witness suspension of the 22nd Amendment, followed by martial law due to a "national crisis."

They know they pushed it all over the edge (Dems/GOP) so what else can they do? I would assume that if this were the case, we would be a total repeat of history in which Government and their propagandists make increasingly dire proclimations, ramp up homeland surveillance, claims of threats to the nation/security and scapegoating of people they wish to eliminate.

Nazi Germany did it, China did it, Russia did it, North Korea does it and oh yea, we’ve been doing it for quite a while now. Global warming, nation building, NSA/IRS, The MSM and admin opinionmaking RE anyone not a flaming liberal.

This is why i wish so badly I could come back in 500 years to read the history of this time period. Because history, assuming anyone lives to write it, will not be kind to the Dems. But it will IMO, be worse with the GOP just as it was to the Vichy french/Nevile Chamberlins. And for the exact same reasons.

People have fits when they hear it. Probably because it’s simple logic/math. And they desperately want to cling to the delusion that Reagan’s Republicans are still the “Republican Party”.

They aren’t.

"Cutting the number of debates"

Geee... I wonder if there is anyone with brilliant debate skills in the GOP- like a certain Whacko-bird from Texas (who also just happens to scare the beejeezus out of the GOPe) , who might be running for the nomination?

Maybe it's that the tin foil hat is on too tight,-but I no longer trust anything they do, and they definitely don't do anything to help conservatives.

RNC chairman: Primary changes will rebuild GOP

If this doesn't mean you will be killing all the "open primaries" then just STFU.

Senator Rand Paul seems, at times, to be interested in bringing the failed idea of the “Big Tent” back into the Republican Party with statements such as this one: “ - - -”I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, - - - . “

What purpose does a “bigger” Republican Party have to restoring the Core Values that our sorry Congressional RINOs have refused to defend by their cave-in, doormat votes to their effective boss Obama?

Senator Paul does not recognize the there has been for the past 5 years virtually no effective difference between the Congressional RINO and Democrat Leaderships.

Thus, a really “Big” Republican Party will just make for more really big cave-ins to Democrats, IMHO.

Congressional RINO Leadership has proven to be incompetent for the last five years.

Replacing Congressional RINO Leadership with fire-in-the-belly Republicans such as Trey Gowdy would do more to give us Conservative voters a reason to vote FOR Republican Candidates, regardless of how “big” the Republican Party becomes.

Paul is concerned about assembling an army and THEN mounting a steady trend to tolerance.

We are asking ALL of the Republicans to fight with what you have NOW, and to fight to the last man/woman!

GIVE US A REASON TO VOTE FOR YOU!

IOW, attack Attack, ATTACK!

And to Hell with the “look, or size” of the doormat Republican Party!

In full agreement with you... yet here on FR, libertarians are to be strung from the nearest streetlight.

Ya know, I like Hank Williams. Senior. Not Bosephuus, though he’s a hero of mine, too.

Time to recognize Hank Williams III. Listen up! Grandson kicks ass too.

Each politician is free to label themselves however they wish.

Currently “Libertarian” is the hot sub-party.

Most of us, myself included, would have a difficult time explaining in our own words just what a Libertarian would do when confronted with the current National Poverty Debt of 17.2 Trillion dollars.

It is all well and good to speak in platitudes, but can their dog hunt?

Trey Gowdy has proven he can hunt. Don’t know about HW3.

In my world, Trey and Mike and Ted would take names and kick ass.

Sadly, this isn’t my world. We’ll see what we shall see.

I will pray for our salvation with you, brother. Matt 18:20..

Dare I hope that this means the GOPe will stop backstabbing conservative GOP candidates?

Quite the opposite null, they rigged the rules at the last convention, likely Jeb will be the next candidate.

If voting mattered they wouldn't let us do it.

Picking out own moderators is simply a no brainer

Getting the opponents to participate is another matter entirely.

In other words, make sure the Tea Party never sees office.

This way thy can keep foisting squishy moderates at us.

Well I've voted for my last lesser evil, even if "You'll just elect Hilary!" That kind of crappy thnking is what got us where we are.
