Implications on this could be all over ... all out and in. Should this be possible ... whom and what are we now dealing with? I best be quiet. Am going too far into the unknown and some folks will not be happy. Not scared but economics says, Be quiet, like the wife? Guess I’ll wait for the morning sunshine.

Dan Bongino, former Secret Service agent and now radio talk show host (mostly on WMAL), said today that his theory is that MH370 was trying to find another jumbo jet on an international flight in order to have a ‘mid-air collision’ with that airliner.

I thought about Dan’s scenario, and it could be possible, IMO, that they could have been looking for a Singapore Airlines, AirIndia or Quantas flight leaving that area (or that corridor) towards the US West Coast - or London - in order to ‘take it out’ in mid-flight.

Possible?

Guy may have been a wannabe fighter pilot. A sim can simulate any type of feature. I’m a heavy guy but fascinated by fighters as I never touched one in real life.

Pretty sure he didn’t need a sim for a 777 seeing as he was certified in one. It’s not like he can do some stunt flying on a revenue run.

Okay, so what we have here is a political hot potato with both sides in the cross hairs. Info coming out about the pilot may or may not be truth as he is being used for a political agenda

"the plane flew for 7 hours after hitting 45,000 feet."

It is unlikely it ever got that high.

Yeah, I know, 'radar' and all that. Well, primary height-finding radar is not all that accurate, and FL450 is above the 777-200 capability, well above certified.

I don’t understand the 7 hour thing. If he wanted to do that couldnt he have found one before 7 hours?

Maybe because he turned off both transponders and radar equipment he was hoping to spot another jumbo jet with the naked eye but didn’t and had to ditch the plane after 7 hours of searching?

How are you doing RummyChick?

I too have never touched a Fighter ... Been pretty close to ‘em though but that was only once at an AF base. Drove by and looked and kept my distance.

Does not seem strange to me at all. If his purposes were truly nefarious, why would he post it on Youtube?

Also had 3 kids at home. I would start with the Iranians with the stolen passports.

An aviation expert on CNN just said that the radar upon which that was based was very primitive and that was likely not good data points.

I was wondering about that too.....specifically, whether a higher altitude could have gotten the plane to Africa.

Interesting article about the number of errors

I learned F4s in school but only did some ground handling on a squadron that was at one of my bases for a week.

“Well, primary height-finding radar is not all that accurate, and FL450 is above the 777-200 capability, well above certified. “

The certified level is set to provide safety margins for maneuvering. I can’t find any numbers but I am sure that the 777 can get to FL450. It would take some time but they are still capable of positive climb rates at FL430.

My remembered experience, on the day up close, was of the Blackbird. Wow, what a Bird!

hadnt thought of this

“But, there’s a flip side to this. And maybe this goes along with the political angle that some of you are pushing. What if the pilot turned off the transponder and flew back toward Malaysian space actually hoping the jet would be shot down? What better way to discredit a government than to show it shoots down passenger jets?

And maybe when Malaysia didn’t do anything at all, the pilot was totally surprised. And knowing he’d failed at being some kind of martyr, he knew his career was over—he couldn’t very well land the jet now. How was he going to explain not using the radio? Turning off the transponder? Flying in the wrong direction? How was he going to explain a dead/incapacitated/locked out of the cockpit co-pilot? He wouldn’t be able to. Because he wouldn’t have had to have explained all those anomalies if the plane had been shot down in the first place like he wanted.”

Love Dan, voted for Dan, contributed to Dan, but if the transponders were turned off how could they find another plane to crash?

Greetings Hot Lips from across the Potomac in our new house in McLean. We said FU Merryland!

” but if the transponders were turned off how could they find another plane to crash?”

The transponders provide no assistance in locating other aircraft. It transmits YOUR location to the receiving radar station.
