We’ve always said that a restraining order is just a piece of paper. Usually we’re referring to defensive gun uses when we say that. However, in this case we have the government violating a restraining order issued by… the government.
As we reported earlier this week, the ATF has demanded that Ares Armor, along with some other vendors, turn over their customer records in relation to an 80% lower that may have actually been a firearm under law. Ares agreed to stop selling the product in question as well as turn over their stock to the ATF, however they refused to provide their customer records.
Fearing a raid by the ATF after the refusal, Ares sought a restraining in order against the ATF in court. They were granted a restraining order, and both sides were supposed to show up in court next week. However, the ATF didn’t like that one bit. So, what did they do? Oh, just violated the crap out of that restraining order and raided Ares anyway.

update: The ATF did execute a search warrant against all of our buildings today. None of our employees have been detained or arrested. We will be open for business tomorrow. We will be back up and shipping out orders on Monday. We wholeheartedly believe that they are WRONG in their actions and we will be relentlessly pursuing remedy through the courts. It isn't evidence if no crime has been committed. But it is intel, if they got the names/addresses of those who purchased incomplete receivers and subsequently built firearms out of them. They are fishing for raid targets, imho.
Mayor Jim Wood & Deputy Mayor Esther Sanchez apparently are backed by the unions. The other 3 council members I dismiss as being party to this without more information.
If it's the Mayor, he really put himself 'out there' walking into Ares the way he did. He's not on the MAIG Coalition List (I downloaded the Member Coalition list Bloomberg deleted from the MAIG website in January, current a/o November 1, 2013, if anyone needs it).

I have seen the Ares unfinished AR-15 receivers. It is made of polymer with the void spaces for the trigger/safety filled with another color polymer. The customer simply drill out most of the filler plastic, and when sufficiently thinned out simply use a plyer to pull the filler plastic out yielding a reasonably machined void space. The filling that plugs the bottom trigger slot will pull out when the filler plastic rennants is pulled. The customer simply drill out the pin holes to complete the receiver. I think the ATF will contend that the receiver is more then 80 percent complete because the void space for the trigger/safety was already complete and filled with another polymer plastic. It is no different then someone completing most of an aluminum receiver and filling the void space with wax and claim the receiver is 80 percent complete. Problem for ATF is did they approve the polymer design for sale to public. Possible that they reviewed the approved product and changed their minds. That has happen before and the manufacturer does not get a refund for the products made and sold before the ATF changed their minds on their own approval.

There is a difference between vengeance for satiating the ego and violence to protect what is good and innocent.
If someone offends me I should not retaliate. But that does not mean I am allowed to be a pacifist. If someone is trying to rape a child I am morally obligated to stop them by any and all means. If a group of fools and miscreants is attempting to destroy the culture and usher in an oppressive and Godless police state I am morally obligated to destroy that attempt.
The Bible has to be taken as a whole and there is more to it than “turn the other cheek”. It is hard to figure out when the time for war will come - but at some point....
Actually all muslims want to destroy America - in that ALL muslims believe that all nations must come under Sharia law. How we get there is really rather irrelevant.
