The Washington Post reported:
Russia, news anchor Dmitry Kiselyov took to the Rossiya 1 news channel to put the situation into a broader geopolitical context for views.
One part of his explanation, however, has caught a lot of attention: Kiselyov explained to his viewers that Russia is the only country capable of turning the United States into “radioactive ashes.” He then went on to use animated maps to show exactly how Russia would automatically respond with nuclear missiles if command and control were attacked or disabled by a U.S. attack.
He also took a swipe at Obama.

Well, why would they threaten to do that if we’re unilaterally disarming and drastically reducing our strategic forces? What’s the hurry?
And why would they do it even then, since Obama says it’s important we set a good example by unilaterally reducing our nuclear deterrent to a more reasonable level? (Big /S here).
The sad thing, is that it wouldn’t surprise me to find that our nuclear infrastructure was also far less reliable than it used to be. No ongoing tests for reliability have been done in a generation. I doubt many of our leading technical people are going into the field, and the old know-how is dying off.

So now any muzzie munchkin knows (as if they hadn’t figured it out already) how to provoke a nuclear war between The Great Satan and the atheist Russians...

If there is any accuracy to his response scenario it can only emanate from one place, the Russian military. If that’s the case, then yes this is a threat. You know there was a book written about 15 years ago by a KGB agent called The World Was Going Our Way. He chronicled how the Reds were winning up till Reagan and Casey began our rearmament and economic warfare. His tone was one of anger that Gorbachev could not respond. Putin is KGB, though at a lower level. But I’m sure he harbors the same anger. And sometimes anger overwhelms common sense.
I felt safer during the Cold War than I do with Obama making believe he is a president and selling us out.
Be careful with that. A radioactive spider turned a wimpy high school boy into Spider-Man.
On the contrary; we are equally capable of doing it to ourselves.
I’m waiting for the Putinistas, the quislings, to say they think that makes sense.
The capability, and given the unlikelihood of retaliation by the current regime, little fear of the mutual assured destruction which held the old Soviet Union in check.
