President Obama warned Vladimir Putin of "additional costs" for Russia after a weekend referendum to separate Crimea from the Ukraine went forward.
In a phone call between the leaders on Sunday, Obama told the Russian president that the U.S. and its allies were "prepared to impose additional costs on Russia for its actions."
And the U.S. signaled it could act as soon as Monday to impose sanctions against Russia for its incursion into Crimea, and for conducting the referendum while occupying troops were in place. The referendum to break Crimea away from Ukraine and make it a part of Russia reportedly passed overwhelmingly although the U.S. and other Western nations have rejected the legitimacy of the vote.

Somehow, they think restricting the International movements of a few oligarchs are going to scare Putin. Until Putin starts doing the same, and China goes along with it.

That could start a nuclear exchange. The threat of sending a picture of the Wookie could have been used as a deterrent but actually doing it as a punishment could trigger WWIII.

Suppose Putin likes Star Wars and wants to be a Darth Vader (really close to An Invader). He might like to have a picture of the First Wookie, just to remind himself of who he is fighting.

Obama despises America and G Britain, so I suppose he also despises Europe as a whole. Throw in the fact that Putin is Communist and Obama borderline at least, I don’t think Obama is too concerned with what is occurring in Ukraine. This is what ‘flexibility’ means.
Aside from the boy prez going against a leader who wears big boy pants (which is funny enough) - I get a chuckle over the idea of “Punish Putin for the vote”. Back in the day we were all about democracy, self-determinism and the like. What is the underlying premise? That the election should not have been held? That Putin should have invalidated it? That the ballot box was stuffed? Did anyone seriously doubt what the outcome would be?
This is so embarrassing. How much longer?

That about what I have been saying. 79% turnout with 93% in favor. It’s not like it was a close election that was stolen, democrat style. The people have made their choice and the man-child needs to accept it.

I have the same feeling. I remember Obama telling Putin after the election he will have more flexibility. I won’t be surprised if Obama is helping Putin, Putin knows Obama won’t do a dam thing by that statement. Remember they are both commies and they stick together.
