WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama on Monday froze the U.S. assets of seven Russian officials, including top advisers to President Vladimir Putin, for their support of Crimea's vote to secede from Ukraine. The sanctions are the most comprehensive since the end of the Cold War.
Obama said he was moving to "increase the cost" to Russia, and he warned that more people could face financial punishment.

It seems to be his new favorite 'bite'.
Unfortunately, Putin is into 'bite me' these days.
It's his latest schtick from the old trick bag..
as in, schtick it to the West..
Only cronies will get to do business with Russia.
Now they have Medicade and ObamaCare.
Is Europe going to boycott Russian tourists, who spend millions of Euros in their countries each year?

Blah, blah, blah.........
So, just how many “US assets” do these seven Russians possess?
Make sure the Russian washes his hands before leaving...
What good are “sanctions” going to do, if they aren’t going to be enforced, as recent history of the Current Regime has shown us? Consider the situation with Iran, and their nuclear enrichment program.
The value of sanctions is of minimal impact anyway. As evidence, consider the effect sanctions have had against Cuba.
Fidel and Raul will BOTH die of old age before any positive effect for the US will be apparent.
I’m 100% SURE the Late-Night Comics and the Daily Show will be all over this tonight, mocking Obama furiously, Right??
They all want to keep those jobs, and not be branded as a racist.
And you wonder WHY the Russians are mocking us?
The Rooskies are still laughing.
“Oh, tough guy, eh?”
Holy crap, mac daddy really, reallyl believes is own bullish** while the rest of the world, and most Americans with an IQ above 2, are ROTFLTAO.
I do believe he has used up 100,000 red pens drawing meaningless red lines.
Mac daddy is a total and utter embarrassment as POTUS and has NO creditability anywhere in the world - NONE.
The only things that is important to mac daddy is mac daddy and screwIng America and Americans.
I don't see anyone on board with Obama and Russia invaded a Country.
Boy the World really likes him.
Yada Yada Yada yawn..............
According to Twitter. Russian Deputy PM Dmitry Rogizn said he doesn’t have any assets abroad. He then asked if Obama hadn’t thought of that.
I saw a comment by somebody (either here or on Hot Air) that said if Obama wants to really get nasty with Putin, just sign him up for Obamacare. That would certainly do more ‘damage’ than this nothingburger stuff he announced today ... his statement was just plain limp.
Never bring a banker to a gunfight.
So now we really have a cold war but as Putin said, ‘the cold war never ended’. We just didn’t know that.
No thanks to us and our misadventures in the Balkans.
...and why does Obama believe that unilateral confiscation of anyone’s property is an adequate substitute for foreign policy?
WOW so this is how Obama reacts when an election doesn’t go his way, I can imagine what happens in November if the GOP takes control of the Senate, will be issues sanctions against America
When photos of old rusted Russian subs at docks were posted and mocked for being rusted, someone of a smart mind asked: “OK, but where are all the NEW subs at?”
I suspect George Soros has a stake in this. obama was quiet until Soros spoke up. Putin should look what Soros owns and interfere with his holdings.
Yeah. I think Obama also offered to give Kerry a vacation and send Hillary back over with the “reset” button.
