Why millennials have abandoned Obama
Wa Po ^ | March 14 , 2014 | Dana Milbank

Posted on 03/17/2014 9:26:37 AM PDT by george76

The day before the Iowa caucuses in 2008, I wrote about the massive crowds of young people at Barack Obama rallies, noting that his candidacy would collapse “if they don’t show up.”

The next night, after Obama’s victory celebration in Des Moines, Obama strategist Steve Hildebrand spotted me in a crowd. “The kids showed up!” he said fiercely.

They did. But where are they now?

An army of 15 million voters under 30 swept Obama past Hillary Clinton and John McCain and to the presidency in 2008. More than 12 million helped him return in 2012. But now his presidency is on the line — and the Obama youth are abandoning him in his hour of need.

The administration announced last week that only 1.08 million people ages 18 to 34 had signed up for Obamacare by the end of February, or about 25 percent of total enrollees. If the proportion doesn’t improve significantly, the result likely will be fatal for the Affordable Care Act.

...

Asking them to pay money to join a health-care exchange, it seems, is too tall an order

“...soooo hip to be part of the group that voted in the first black president.”

And probably the last black president, thanks to Hussein.

Many people 18-24 don’t even know who the prez is. Obama is not on their social radar. they are not vested in the idiot.

Milbank is a reliable Lib, but he also gets his rocks off by poking sticks into peoples’ eyes. He’ll generally go after Repubs and Conservatives ( witness him wearing a day glo hunting vest after Dick Cheney shotgunned that guy) but if he sees a good opportunity to stir up controversy and anger by taking shots at Dems/Libs, he has a hard time passing it up.

There was only one black kid out of the group who didn't regret voting for obama.

Does that mean there were other black kids who did regret voting for the Bamboozler-in-Chief?...............

Ok She writes, the younger generation Is unable to remain loyal to a cause’

So she gets her obligatory, ‘it is not Obama. It’s the entire generation’ in

Then she interviews for backup. She places the interview as far from her idiotic assertion as possible. He says, ‘the institutions are weak’ They are

Obama is weak and our cultural institutions are as well. She wants to blame the Internet and kids’ reliance on electronics.

I assume she’s all for indoctrinating these kids to be stupid in public schools and all too willing to then blame them. She should be glad they’re smart enough to reject the interloper

They are taught for twelve years not counting at home and in the media, that this country is bad.

What institutions are standing up to a daily onslaught? The USMC has to admit women to elite combat units. They do not have the upper body strength. They cannot be out in the field with normally developed men.

The NFL cannot admit women. They can not play. So that institution will get destroyed

Gays infiltrated the catholic seminaries in the seventies while Vatican II was in this country being vastly misinterpreted. What are kids supposed to do with a church that bends to the cultural norm?

Today, there is white repeated struggle waging in the northeast. Homosexual activists and their commercial, media, and political supporters will not allow Saint Patrick to be honored without a complete temper tantrum

In NYC, manhattan, St Patrick wins the day as his devotees as the men who run it wisely brought it to the USSC, and declared it a private institution which honors one guy and all he represents. No hatred, gays are as usual welcome, just not to use the parade to tell about what they do in private

In the pro life march on Washington, the crowd is 400,000 plus, every year, and growing. The average age is 22 yo Smart healthy kids who use their earned time and resources to do nothing but stand in the cold January rain and snow in defense of the victims of abortion

The institutions that withstand the onslaught are vastly attended by young people who as all young people do, hunger for the truth and loathe hypocrisy

This Washington Post will be another casualty of not being a worthy institution and will suffer and die from the deserved neglect of young people
They have no use for it.

The majority of kids will always know the liar. That’s been my experience teaching high school English. They are hungry for truth and they get in trouble with adults who live Iives of falsehoods and bs

Millenials are the most selfish, self centered generation in history. They were more than willing to vote for a man who greased their collective egos by telling them they were the ones they had been waiting for. Now the bill is coming due and they are bailing. Just like the college girls who couldn’t give up a little of their data plans or drink one less latte grande to pay for the birth control pills. The rest of their millennial compatriots aren’t going to give up their toys to pay for health care as long as they can stay on mommy and daddy’s or go to the ER.

To follow my point, today there is a struggle, st Patrick’s day, my autocorrect put in ‘white’

That is a catholic feast day. It is 1700, seventeen hundreds years old. That’s the Church. The Church in America, as it is, is constantly under attack, as the enemy would have it, and as any corned beef cooking Irish woman will tell you, ‘the devil you know...’

That the organizers have, in keeping with church teaching, have withstood the onslaught in that belabored city, speaks loud and clear to the health or strength of that institution, regardless of age

And young people flock to the biannual Papal world youth day. The institutions of this country are currently designed to misguide youth

Mil bank can’t see that and she can’t see that their rejection of BO is a sign of health. And she cannot make a logical point

But she got paid to write this article which is more incoherent than the worst ninth grade paper I’ve read recently

She’s an idiot

Like it matters. They’ll show up like the brainwashed drones that they are to vote for the next Demagogic Party candidate. When Zero says he has a pen and a phone, they support him. Thanks george76.

I don’t believe this will accrue to the GOP’s benefit. These Millenials are still pro-abort, pro-gay marriage, pro-Socialism, pro-global warming, and get their “news” from DailyShow and Colbert.

Yes there was a few others who did regret voting for him. I was surprised to hear a young black woman who brought up the IRS targeting of the Tea Party and said she was a Tea Party member. She even joked that she would be audited because she admitted she was a Tea Party member. It's good to see young black people separate themselves from the democrat propaganda that does nothing but destroy the black community.

That and the thrill of voting for skin color. Will the “first” woman be as enticing, regardless of her policies?

We already had our first black president, back in the nineties. And our first female president is the incumbent.

Often does when the bill shows up.

Boy, can I relate to that! My two oldest kids are millenials, and they love it when I pay the dinner tab.

They also cut back their drinking after I told them, "I'll pay for the first round, you're on your own after that." It got real old to pay for them to be drinking $6.50 schooners of Bud-freaking-Light. It was insulting my intelligence: all they had to do was order a beer worth the money, like Shiner, Ziegenbock, or Rahr.

I almost think these “Obama is crashing in the polls! Millenials are abandoning him in droves!” reports are just psyops BS. Obama can’t run again (legally) so it behooves the communist powers-that-be to placate the angry conservatives (aka Americans) by giving them the illusion that things are moving their way. Then, when the next election comes along, conservatives get stomped. That’s exactly what happened before 2012, and that’s what will most likey happen 2016. Meanwhile, a lot of people who should be ready to do something about these things are lulled into thinking “Let’s just wait for the next election - it’s all going our way!”

That is precisely the thought that has been bouncing around in my head recently, especially with all of the stories about the Dems worrying about the 2014 elections.

It is like Lucy is holding the football for us.
