Doctor: No Such Thing as ADHD
The New American ^ | 18 March 2014 | Selwyn Duke

The child would daydream in class, his elementary-school teachers said. He often just didn’t pay attention the way they would have liked. This was before the age of prevalent ADHD diagnoses and Ritalin, so no remedy was at hand, either. If one had been, though, who knows what he might have been?

Perhaps not co-valedictorian of his school — which he was.

I was that child. And were I attending school today and especially if my behavior had been worse, it’s likely I’d have received that fashionable diagnosis. And why not? It seems everyone now could have ADHD.

This point is made by Dr. Richard Saul, who has been practicing behavioral neurology for 50 years and is the author of the new book ADHD Does Not Exist. In a March 14 Time piece he writes:

You mean these children (mostly boys I might add) are just rotten little brats and typically aggressive as most boys are? I call it FS....football syndrome, i.e., Just gotta smash that kid and take his ball away.

Ding. Ding. Ding. 'Most children diagnosed with ADHD are boys' because most teachers forcing this to happen are liberal feminist womyn who are atheistic man-haters. They hate themselves and God for creating the world and man and woman with very different and distinct gifts and 'wiring'. They refuse to accept the feminine genius that God designed and seek to deny that any difference exists between the sexes. They seek to make this happen by feminizing the boys.

And so they are making our children (mostly boys) pay by drugging them for being boys ....

Sorry but this doctor is a moron. ADHD is certainly over diagnosed, and definitely over medicated, but there really are people that have serious brain chemistry caused difficulties not bouncing off the walls.

Which is assuming it had meaning other than describing a symptomatic behavior to start with.

I’ve always felt this ‘condition’ was dreamed up as a way to get extra money for parents of ‘disabled’ kids...

But schools get extra money if a kid has ADHD. And if he's too quiet...and doesn't look you in the eye...he's autistic.

ADHD was invented so single mothers could force their kids to keep to a schedule.

Virtually everyone focuses better on the right level of stimulant—which is ADHD treatment.

Used to be that professional baseball players routinely took ‘greenies’ to improve performance. And, of course, there’s a massive black market for ADHD drugs in college, as a general aid to studying.

A couple of weeks ago, when my daughter and I were out for ice cream, we were recognized by a young boy who also goes to my daughter’s (private) school. He was also out for ice cream with his mother. As I talked with the boy and his mother, it became obvious that he was a young man of superior intelligence, as well as social confidence; in fact, he mostly carried the conversation, which seemed to embarrass his mother a bit. When he casually mentioned being on medication for his “ADHD,” I was amazed and dismayed, although I said nothing. I do not believe that the school had any part in that diagnosis. I think it may have more to do with the fact that he is being raised by a single mom (whether divorced or widowed, I don’t know). I am a single mom myself, but I have a daughter, which I think is easier. My heart weeps for boys who are drugged for being boys.

There is no simple solution to this question. We live in an overbooked society where things are supposed to work. According to experts, teachers are supposed to be everything and anything in their classrooms. A teacher who isn’t must have a problem. A child that doesn’t fit in must be fixed, immediately. Parents have been made to feel that they should both be able to work, have children, be active in their churches, and communities or they are slackers. A child that doesn’t shut up and do his or her homework, etc. must be fixed, immediately. Drugs like Ritalin offer an instant fix but may cause problems down the line. Until we stop pretending that we can be all things to all people, we will keep blaming children for the problems that adults are causing.

ADHD was invented by public schools. Why you say? Because for every child they can claim has a learning disability the Feds send them a bucket of extra cash!

The commie pubic school teachers are trained by their union to tell parents their child needs to be tested, and they just happen to have a list of approved doctors to do just that.

The entire scam is as simple as that, more money for commie teachers!

Well, then you’re ignorant. I had ADD undiagnosed for 30-something years. Stimulant drugs don’t make me hyper; they actually help me settle down, relax, get my thoughts together, and get busy. When they combine stimulants with anti-depressants, that can be a problem since (1) anti-depressants can make NORMAL people respond like ADD people to stimulants, (2) depression also causes inattentiveness, (3) being depressed and coming down from a high is a really, really bad idea.

They way they can tell is they treat it and the problems go away.

At what cost? Lots of symptoms 'go away' with medication. There are always side effects of one degree or another.

Also: If he was co-valedictorian, he obviously didn’t need ADD medications.
