Additionally, [donning tin foil hat and speculating] if the pilot or co-pilot were involved in a plot, they would probably have had a landing area in mind. They probably would also have cohorts at that location to help them.

“Eyewitnesses from the Kuda Huvadhoo concurred that the aeroplane was travelling North to South-East, towards the Southern tip of the Maldives – Addu. They also noted the incredibly loud noise that the flight made when it flew over the island.”

Gan International Airport is the airport serving Addu City.

Recently the airport was upgraded to international standards in preparation for international flights expected with the opening of tourist resorts in the area.

I guess some of the 30,000 living in addu might have said something if an unexpected flight landed there though.

I said last week he flew through the Maldives and probably landed on Male Island's 10,000ft runway. What is the approach plate for Male? The Runway is on a heading of 360 and the sighting was @90 miles away on the downwind approach south/southwest of the runway, just where I would expect to find FLT370 sneaking in for a quick landing and refuel. If the sightings are valid and I believe they are satellite images should pick up a departure and track it to the next destination.

Maldives...one of the half dozen or so "remote" landing areas plotted into the pilot's homemade flight simulator according to one report today - of course another report somewhere else says there's been no information yet released about the simulator - so your guess is as good as mine.....

There is an 8500’ runway at an airport south of the sighting on Gan Island. Quite remote. About 250 miles SSE on the southern most island of the series of atolls. On Google earth listed as Gan which is also accompanies with Arabic text as well.

I've always thought Somalia or Yemen maybe, only because they're pretty much straight across from Malay, but with fuel limitations maybe not possible. A confirmed Maldive sighting points to really any ME country remotely bordering the Arabian sea.

More and more it seems we're involved in a cat-and-mouse game with the Mohamadeeians, who are protecting each other by only giving half a puzzle piece or downright misinformation to the Western World, (and China etc) who are, in turn, running around in circles at the cost of significant millions. Oil slicks over here, phantom suitcases over there, airplane parts in places already searched that disappear on second look, it flew here, it flew there, the list goes on. If human life weren't involved, it would be like some huge practical joke. The only thing we can take to the bank is that the hijackers are gangsters for hire and somebody or some country paid the tab.

The missing aircraft has become our bait as we are tested in our response times, equipment, methods and intelligence. It's high time we recognize for real that we are in a war that started without us and we've got some serious catching up to do - including finding the guts to drop some steel on some heads. After all, it's clear that is exactly what masters of the disciples of Mohammad intend to do, too. imo
