David Kirp, the author of the book (but not, obviously, of the quote) was a member of President Obama’s transition team back in 2008.

I’d tell him his schtick is over, “Ave Nice Day”.
Jesse Jerks on, last time I checked Asians and Indians were minorities. Now, why not tell your race that dropping out of school, or playing sports is not the real world. Also tell them if I see one more applicants with a name starting with ‘La’, ‘Qa’ or ‘Xz’, I’ll throw it in the trash.
This is the tax accounting department - so technical with an ever changing set of rules.
My family has several engineering - unfortunately for me I’m not one. Never would have been able to handle that math.

Agreed. Shooting each other is a pretty undesirable way to reduce the ranks of the unemployed.
