Putin’s global ambitions could destabilize Europe

Since then, Putin increasingly has referred to Russia as distinct from the West. He promotes an “orthodox morality” that rejects Western notions of tolerance and inclusive societies — seen domestically in the imprisonment of Pussy Riot, new “anti-propaganda” laws targeting gays and a crackdown on any media deviating from the Kremlin line.

The West discounted much of this exceptionalist narrative until it was used in Crimea. Putin’s soldiers-of-no-nation are branded “local self-defense forces” to underscore native pro-Russian support. The relentless information war propagates perceptions of ethnic-religious divisions and Western “hypocrisy.” Financial weapons underscore Putin’s reliance on oligarch-princes to revitalize orthodoxy in Russia and across Europe and to buy the silence of potential critics and the support of willing advocates.

Yeah, he’s “tucking the Orthodoxy in his pocket”. Don’t think for one minute that Putin is a “man of faith”. Just another chess piece to use to conjure up Russian nationalism.

"Putin’s global ambitions could destabilize Europe"

Exactly when in any of our lifetimes could we say Europe was actually stable?

Then, actually do something about it other than just agreeing with a Russian tyrant.

It has begun and it will not stop until an authentic leader is elected here. Actually, even then, it will probably be too late!

We have begun to reap what we have voted for...

Putin is not opposing homosexuality because of any Christian moral revulsion. He opposes the militant homosexual proponents because 1) they advocate a rebellious attitude toward government authority, and 2), if allowed to grow into a widespread movement, as the West has done, they will ultimately weaken Russia militarily and disrupt Russian unity.

Putin is not interested in turning his nation or his military into a social experiment, as we have done. He knows they are a distraction to Russian nationalism and his apparent goal of re-establishing the Russian empire.

His reasons for rejecting the homosexual agenda are not for any true Christian moral reasons - it’s just that they distract from his goals. In fact, he would do the same to Christian groups or any other group that threatens the same. By the way, I’m not equating the disruption of tyranny by Christianity with the disruption of society in general as the militant homosexuals do.

We can agree with Putin as to the negative effects on society and national morale that the militant homosexual movement clearly has, yet his reasons for resisting that agenda have nothing to do with Godly morality.
