Political newcomer businessman Bruce Rauner has been declared the winner in the 4-way race for IL Gov. in the Republican primary.

The ONLY reason this was anywhere near close is the last minute push by the unions to direct their members to pull Republican primary ballots and vote for Dillard, the next-highest polling candidate. A poor version of Operation Chaos, and nyah nyah unionistas, it didn't work.

Rauner has his work cust out to win in this blue state, but his campaign will shine a lot of light into very dark corners, and hopefully will bring about the change that is so badly needed in Illinois. Even the not-so mighty Quinn lost nearly 30% of votes to a haphazard weak challenger.

Go Rauner!

The unions blow another $6,000,000 trying to beat Rauner. I think they’re starting to feel the heat. They will be All-in for Quinn come this November. I think Rauner can beat Quinn handily.

Rauner, Rahm Emanuel’s bestest friend in the GOP. What a treat for the people of IL. The Combine got its puppets as usual again. Shameful and disgraceful.

Erika Harold lost as well (39% at last check).

None of the candidates were great. Brady was the one that was the victim of Combiner voter fraud in 2010 (while the Combine delivered Mark Kirk’s victory). He was the least objectionable. Rutherford and Dillard were establishment RINO Combiners. Rauner was the worst of the bunch. I expect he will beat Quinn, as the Combine is fine with that. He will be another execrable RINO officeholder on par with fraudbot Kirk.

He won a SAFE GOP State Senate seat 2 years ago. And he once beat a conservative state Senator in a congressional primary by smearing him.

Durbin will grind him into dust and the funny thing is, his supports will encourage to run yet again.

Repost I just posted this in a different thread.

Governor

Rauner (RINO) squeaks out a win over Dillard (RINO). 40-37 with 97% in. Rauner’s running mate Evelyn Sanguinetti is speaking Spanish on stage and has a really of-putting manner.

The local news is reporting (if I understand them correctly) that democrats crossed over for Dillard, didn’t happen in my heavily rat Chi precinct, turnout was 1%. There were no major rat primaries, Quinn crushed a weak challenger.

Senate

Oberdouche beats Truax 56-44. Fail. 30 point loss in November likely for this perennial loser.

Tim Cross (RINO) wins the primary for Treasurer over Bob Grogan 57-43. Fail

CD 8, the erratic campaign of Pete Sessions’ recruited Manju Goel ended in massive defeat by more than 2-1 to underfunded primary challenger Larry Kaifesh. Cook/Rasmussen/Sabato all rate the seat as safe rat due to the weakness of the GOP challengers. Goel clearly would have had no chance. Kaifesh needs money to compete in November.

CD 9, Safe rat seat but it there is close GOP primary here, Susane Atanus, who says autism is God’s punishment for homosexuality, leads a Ron Paulbot by 52-48 with 93% in.

CD 11 State Rep. Darlene Senger beats Chris Balkema and Bert Miller in a fairly close 3-way race. Senger should be semi-competitive in November

CD 13 Davis beats Harold 54-41. Sigh.

CD 16, Adam Kingzinger crushes Rockford Tea-Party leader David Hale. Hale was a weak challenger and Rockford is only partially in the district.

IL House District 81. Gay marriage supporting incumbent Ron Sanduck leads conservative Keith Matune by 30 votes with 93% in.

With the exception of Massachusetts, Illinois may be the most premier example of a state in need of a second party. One Combiner RINO puppet vs. a Combiner Democrat is not a choice, it’s a visceral disgrace to a free republic.

Take a look for yourself: http://brucerauner.com/

The haters gonna hate, but Rauner is a successful businessman (which means he’s never going to please the ideological purists) who has never held political office before but has spent over $6 million of his OWN money to this point to try to break the Democrat stranglehold on Illinois.

Know what? I’d rather have Rahm Emaneul as Governor than the incompetent boob Pat Quinn.

Phil Crane was one of a kind in many ways, and he lost his seat on the charge that he had been in Congress so long that he’d lost touch with his constituents, including many who liked and supported him, but were frustrated by his disengagement. Bruce Rauner is running on a platform of strict term limits.

Besides, how can you not like a guy who posts this bio:

I was posting a reply to someone else, not running.

I take Rauner at his word, is what I do:

“I’ve given to four Democrats: Emanuel, Daley, Ed Rendell because he was head of the DNC and he was willing to take on the teachers’ unions when he was in Philadelphia and I wanted a national guy who was a Democrat and would do battle, and the other one is Forrest Claypool, who was running against John Stroger for Cook County (Board chair). Stroger was not a good guy. Claypool is honest and unfortunately he’s a Democrat, but there’s no Republicans willing to run in Cook County,” Rauner said.

I am absolutely a cheerleader for Rauner. You and I am disagree but if Illinois stays under the control of the democrat oligarchy led by Pat Quinn, I can say with good certainty that no serious reform or change is going to happen. I am more than willing to take the change that Rauner will be a man of his word.

Besides, I think Rahm has a lot better “besties”.

To Dillard? That’s highly debatable.

Some would say no because Dillard is pro-life and against gay marriage and Rauner is pro-choice and vaccinates on gay marriage.

The claim is that rats crossed over for Dillard. Jim Edgar (a RINO ex-Governor but a decent one compared to George Ryan) was Dillard’s #1 backer. Most of the establishment like Kirk and Tom Cross were for Rauner. Rauner bought himself a lot “tea party” support to go with his establishment support.

Rauner’s camp was behind the scandal that destroyed the Rutherford campaign.

Neither is acceptable. I voted for Brady who was a poor third.

Maybe I’m wrong and Rauner’s silver tongue speaks the truth?

Pete Fitzgerald managed to win statewide and without the Combine, too. Conceding that a “Conservative” can’t win, then what’s the point ? Let the Democrats have absolute control. That’s the same crap the liberal establishment told Ronald Reagan in California in 1966 when he was running for Governor. “He can’t win. Only San Francisco Mayor George Christopher can win.” Christopher was another liberal RINO who would’ve lost to Pat Brown.

Every time our side concedes without a fight, we give legitimacy to the corrupt bipartisan opposition that takes our nation further and further down every day.

>> A conservative will not win a statewide contest there. <<

A conservative won statewide for Treasurer in 2010, INCLUDING in Mark Kirk's district where Kirk's fans falsely claimed an unabashedly pro-life and pro-gun candidate "WILL NEVER WIN" a district like that.

The response from Team Rauner was to manufacture a phony "sexual harrassment" scandal like the ones used against Clarance Thomas and Herman Cain, in order to destroy his chances in the gubernatorial primary.

I'm not sure what's worse - combiner slime like Rauner, or "conservatives" who make excuses for them and suffer amnesia any time a conservative actually wins office.

Rutherford wasn’t perfect (Brady is more conservative) but he was the biggest threat to Rauner and has already won statewide.

That’s why the combine unleashed the “scandal” (that he sexually harassed/tried to gay rape some ugly bald democrat) and destroyed him.

If it had just been the democrats alone they would have waited to see if Rutherford won the primary and then unleashed the scandal in September.

I agree with Impy. I also was concerned that Rutherford was a "conservative" combiner in the Dillard mold (Rutherford was WAY too cozy with Topinka, ironically since the Oberweis people falsely accused Brady of this when he was never close friends with Judas Barf Topinka)

But the fact Rauner decided to completely destroy Rutherford's reputation with a manufactured Herman Cain type "scandal" seems to be pretty clear evidence to me that he ran for Governor without the combiner's approval. He posed a threat to them since he went against the "only candidates who love planned parenthood can WIN statewide in Illinois" propaganda, and they needed him out of the way.

Dillard supporters utterly despised Rauner, but there was no similar effort to "take out" Dillard from the Rauner camp. The combine takes care of their own.

“Sharon Brannigan celebrated a more than two-to-one margin of victory over Diane Harris as the Republican nominee to challenge Daniel Lipinski in the U.S. 3rd Congressional District.”

http://lagrange.suntimes.com/news/congress3rd-LAG-03182014:article

At least there is one race where the 2 candidates oppose amnesty. Brannigan is a true reformer according to NumbersUSA. When Lipinski voted against the Dream Act there was talk of him getting a Latino primary challenger.

http://www.wbez.org/blog/achy-obejas/dream-act-how-they-voted
“I’ll put money that Lipinski gets a Latino challenger in two years, and that he’ll have a race on his hands.”

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2014/03/17/gutierrez-ethics-scofield-legal-fees/6524913/

“WASHINGTON — Rep. Luis Gutiérrez, D-Ill., has spent nearly $30,000 in legal fees since last summer, hiring a lawyer who specializes in ethics and congressional investigations after USA TODAY reported the congressman had kept a Chicago lobbyist working in his congressional office for years.”

The Senger race seems like an okay outcome. The Tea Party candidate Balkema is close enough to challenge her again if she votes like a RINO assuming she wins. I wonder if any of these candidates are going to be smart and go after the open borders agenda of the Dems. Foster and Durbin are big amnesty supporters working in the interests of the Mexican government. How can a RINO outpander them?

Fitz wasn’t part of the combine. He had to go so they launched a jihad against him to scare him out of the race, they succeeded. Then they didn’t like the candidate that won the primary to replace him (Jack Ryan) so they cut him loose because he got kinky with his own wife according to sealed divorce records and then replaced him with out-of-stater Alan Keyes who was sure to get crushed. Conservatives loved Keyes and so they went along. Brilliant political chess and the most disgusting event to happen in this state.

Ray LaHood led the jihad against Fitzgerald. He was rewarded with a Cabinet seat.

And unlike last time when Brady won the GOP nod they got their man in the GOP primary so they are covered in both parties. Quinn will play to Rahm’s every whim to try and win his support. Rahm made out like a bandit.

Well, after Durbin wins his Senate race going away against Oberweis, and after yet another loss by Brady tonight, perhaps the Oberbrady will finally take the hint and stop running for the big statewide offices they can never get.

Dillard would have been slightly preferable to Rauner, if only because of social issues; but GOP turnout was terrible. Now we’ll have two Pro-Choice candidates on the ballot in November running for Governor. Wonderful.

If there is any silver lining in all of this, perhaps it will be not seeing Oberbrady on the ballot for statewide office anymore. So many losses, so many losses, so many losses. I’m so tired of both of these proven election losers.

Overall it was a pretty awful night for Conservatives in IL. We won almost nothing. We couldn’t even oust gay marriage supporters in GOP primaries. This state is so lost........
