A new theory claims that a fire broke out aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and the crew was doing what it could to save passengers and themselves
As the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370 enters its twelfth day, conspiracy theories and suggestions of foul play are giving way to the idea that a fire broke out onboard and the crew were simply doing everything they could to save the passengers and themselves.
That theory, first floated by Chris Goodfellow, a pilot with 20 years of experience, holds that a fire on board the aircraft caused the pilots to set course for the nearest viable airport. Heading back to Kuala Lumpur would have meant traversing 8,000-foot ridges. A much more feasible option would have been the 13,000-foot runway at Pulau Langkawi, a destination which would correspond with the new route the aircraft appeared to have followed.
Once the course had been altered, the fire could have melted electronic wire bundles, causing cyanide gas to be pumped through the cockpit and cabin, rendering everyone unconscious (oxygen masks dont help since cyanide gas can be absorbed through the skin), and leaving the aircraft heading along its path until it ran out of fuel.
[snip]
The fire scenario could also explain the loss of communication systems. Either the pilots started killing electrical busses in order to contain the fire, or an electrical fire caused the gradual collapse of various systems on board.
Taking busses offline is a big process, and it may leave you without computer and navigational instruments, says Rodger, who believes it is more likely that a fire took down the aircrafts communication systems.

So when the co-pilot calmly said to the air traffic controller “Alright, goodnight” 12 minutes after the plane changed its course, this was during a raging fire in the cabin?
Makes no sense.
“Theory time!”

Of course there is a problem when you are using a system for cars in a plane. Why didn’t they spend the money to use the APLANES system?
Ain’t it fun??
What a crazy idea.
Remember the incident when the SEALs flew into Pakistan aboard helicopters, and probably a drone or two as well? You can ‘stealth’ a helicopter but you can’t make them quiet. LOL
You know, the microphone to call is on the yoke, you can steer and talk at the same time. With no communication from the pilot - whenever happened was intentional or happened in less then 2 seconds.

The flight was at least 12 minutes into the new westerly course change before putting out their "good night" message at 0119 and at 0121 the transponder, etc were turned off (per FOX).
Isn’t the latest news now that he commented BEFORE they changed course and not AFTER?
gee, those pilots must have been freakin psychic or something..already changing course and turning west 12 minutes BEFORE calling into traffic control and saying alright good night..can I ask these pilots for lotto numbers seems they can predict the future
Concur. A fire that is unknown could explain loss of systems while the pilots fly unaware but a course change preceding last verbal contact is hard to explain with that.
I’ve read this comment from several posters. ACARS only reported, according to several pilots (online), at debark, gear up, and landing, unless a internal event triggers it earlier. Ie., the data transmission (not satellite handshake) would only occur if something out of the ordinary was detected.
Then from most timelines, the transponder went offline after the last call in. A slowly progressing system fault could cause a domino failure, if the initial failure triggered physical damage to the airplane.
I think it’s the Malaysians’ fault that this fact was distorted early on.
Plus, how do we know the fault was visible at the time the pilots called in? The Thai radar reports said the drift west was very slow. It was the Malaysians who claimed it all went nuts all at once. I don’t trust them. Their transportation minister looks like a deer in the headlights at the press conferences. He doesn’t want to be there...
To me, it doesn’t yet seem like anything is legally out of order at this point. Mostly, it’s the Malaysians trying to cover up that they don’t know what happened, because they were not paying enough attention to details of their airspace.
Ie., the confusion is being created over a simple failure of a complex system, because the Malays are executing a full press CYA operation since they didn’t deal with the airliners going off course in the first place.
This has been obvious ever since it was discovered that the plane actually flew over the island.
On my limb here, this plane is in the ocean, and every soul on it was dead before it touched down on the water.
So the pilots didn’t radio in to report any problem?
Excellent!
Calypso Louis’ mothership abducted them.
New Theory Sees Possible Fire on Missing Jet
Time’s about a week late on this new theory.
