March 19, 2014, 03:43 pm Kerry phones Netanyahu to complain about insults

By Rebecca Shabad

Secretary of State John Kerry called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Wednesday morning to protest insults the Israeli defense minister directed at the Obama administration this week, the State Department said.

In a speech at Tel Aviv University on Monday, Moshe Ya’alon criticized President Obama for having a weak foreign policy, and said Israel could no longer rely on the U.S. to lead nuclear negotiations with Iran.

“Secretary Kerry spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu this morning. And he protested to him his concerns about these comments,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters Wednesday.

The United States, Psaki reaffirmed, maintains an “unshakeable commitment” to Israel’s security.

“So it is certainly confusing to us why Defense Minister Ya'alon would continue his pattern of making comments that don't accurately represent the scope of our close partnership on a range of security issues and on the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel,” she said.

On Monday, Ya’alon slammed the Obama administration for the slow progress on nuclear talks with Iran. It was not the first time he has been critical of the U.S.

“If we wished others would do the work for us, it wouldn't be done soon, and therefore in this matter, we have to behave as if we can only rely on ourselves," he said.

America’s power in the world is becoming increasingly diminished, Ya’alon argued.

“Weakness certainly does not pay in the world," he said. "No one can replace the U.S. as the world's policeman. I hope the U.S. will come to its senses.”

Ya’alon’s comments were “not constructive” and “inconsistent,” said Psaki, who added they don’t reflect the government of Israel.

While Psaki declined to describe the conversation between Kerry and Netanyahu, she said Kerry “has a tough skin and is happy to move on beyond this.”

Asked if the U.S. would like an apology, she said, “We're ready to move forward and keep talking about the peace process.”

Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports Ya’alon plans to clarify his remarks during upcoming meetings with senior U.S. officials.

The Obama administration doesn’t like to hear the truth. Obama should be considered an enemy of Israel.

"Ya’alon’s comments were “not constructive” and “inconsistent,” said Psaki, who added they don’t reflect the government of Israel." Translation: We sure hope this guy doesn't become the next Israeli PM! "While Psaki declined to describe the conversation between Kerry and Netanyahu, she said Kerry “has a tough skin and is happy to move on beyond this.”" Translation: Kerry threw a hissy-fit, but didn't get his apology. "Asked if the U.S. would like an apology, she said, “We're ready to move forward and keep talking about the peace process.”" Translation: We don't know what else to do except, "more of the same".

So it is certainly confusing to us why Defense Minister Ya'alon would continue his pattern of making comments that don't accurately represent the scope of our close partnership on a range of security issues and on the enduring partnership between the United States and Israel

Because:

A: They Don't Believe You?

B: They Probably Have Solid Evidence You Want To Throw Israel Under the Bus?

C: There Are A Bunch Of Rookies / Commies / Closet Muzzies Running US Foreign Policy?

D: All Of The Above

Obama should be considered an enemy of Israel.

Not to mention being a domestic enemy of the US Constitution.

Netanyahu should tell Kerry to come to Israel if he wants to discuss the issue.

When he gets there invite him to come in through the servants’ back door entrance, sit him at a table in a back room, give him a glass of water and make him wait alone while Netanyahu has a long, leisurely dinner.

After dinner Netanyahu can meet with him for 5 or 10 minutes, then send him on his way.

What Obama and Kerry are doing is forcing Israel to attack Iran over Iran’s nukes. If the US will not stand with our faithful ally, Israel has no choice but to go it alone to survive. Obama and Kerry are selling out Israel.
