I thought Inmarsat was only capable of judging distance from the satellite to the airplane, not direction to the plane. That's why they put out that map with wide arcs, instead of nice little points.

IMO this is all total BS. General McInerney has probably been told by high level sources that this plane is in Pakistan or Iran. They have known this all along and are just not sharing.

Its like the old joke about the cat’s on the roof and we can’t get it down.

“It was reported today pilot Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah had programmed a remote island in the middle of the Indian Ocean with a runway long enough to land a Boeing 777 into his home flight simulator.”

In light of the circumstances I find that bit of news interesting.

Have you ever seen sooo many cautionary statements...

Except:

China said no evidence of terror links had been found in Chinese passengers.

(...)

Based on background checks, there was no evidence to suggest that the mainland Chinese passengers on the plane were involved in hijacking or launching a terror attack, Mr Huang added.

[Remember: The Soviets denied Chernobyl for weeks and beyond all realities...this is what communists do. There are a thousand examples. Now Mooochelle is there to promote their legitimacy...oh what a coincidence. She’s there to lay the wreath and quell the truth. Over and done.]

well, technically, it’s urine:

“There are three components to most droppings. Urine consists of a crystal urine called urates (white chalky material) and a non-crystal urine called urine (clear water). Sometimes the 2 types of urine are mixed creating a cloudy white urine.”

It does not surprise me. Any pilot that flys international routes over water would just for the hell of it see if he could land in an emergency on an unfamiliar airport. He might have been testing himself to see if he could put a 777 down on a 1,000 meter (little over 3,000’ runway)which would be an amazing feat. One he could land on but never take off from.

This reminds me of the incident where a cobra got lose from some guy’s house. They had all these people searching for this snake with traps etc. I drove over to the area and saw all the acres of woods and said “they ain’t ever gonna find that snake”. And they didn’t.

Same with this plane I’m afraid. After almost two weeks of this drama my opinion is that it is likely “they ain’t ever gonna find this plane”.

Agree, to the extent that it's all bs, or at least obfuscation. No one wants to admit that their radar personnel was out for an extended booze break, or that their military shot down the plane, or that their crew went bonkers or that their airplane fell apart or that the engine sputtered and stopped…I think they're trying to avoid having a 234-person class action suit filed against them.

The Malaysians must have studied that old business school classic:

Mushroom Management: Keep them in the Dark and FEed Them Manure.

He would probably need 8,000 feet of runway minimum for take off with fuel and passengers and luggage/freight. And that would be cutting it kinda close. Throw out the passengers and luggage/freight and it would not be that bad.

I don’t think he stopped anywhere. Flew straight to Paki or Iran.

FBI analyses pilot’s flight simulator data as search for MH370 enters 13th day
"Malaysia has now made available to the FBI electronic data generated by both pilots of flight MH370, including data from a hard drive attached to the captain's flight simulator, and from electronic media used by the co-pilot, Fariq Abdul Hamid, an American law enforcement official said to Reuters. The official, however, said he could not confirm that some data had been wiped from the simulator and stressed that there was no guarantee the FBI analysis would turn up any fresh clues.
Missing Malaysia Airlines plane lacked $US10 upgrade that could have provided crucial satellite data for search
"The upgrade, which wholesales for about $US10 per flight ($10.90), would have provided investigators with the direction, speed and altitude of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 even after other communications from the plane went dark, said a satellite industry official familiar with the equipment.
Missing MH370: Flight simulator’s info erased
"PUTRAJAYA: Most of the information from Capt Zaharie Ahmad Shah’s private flight simulator has been erased. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told the daily press conference at the Sama-Sama Hotel here that most of the data in the simulator had been erased on Feb 3, but experts were now trying to recover the data by tracing the forensic footprint. The IGP’s statement debunks a report in a daily which reported that five landing sites had been discovered in the MH370 pilot’s flight simulator. The daily reported on Tuesday that the simulator showed five landing sites in the northern and southern corridors of the ongoing search and rescue operation.

RC, Steve was an early source for intell that the plane did land! flew 3675 miles, and maybe shadowed Singapore airlines 68 to get to Central Asia.

Today’s diversionary info was that the plane headed south and went into the Indian Ocean. All the talking heads were in agreement.

Glad Steve is calling BS on the southern route.

It went north and so far 12 days have been needed for governments to deal with the truth and the after effects.

Also, Israel is taking no chances. And they have a great intell system.
