Not all cameras and smart phones can record gps information like that. However, to be on the safe side, not a bad idea to open the picture in some kind of photo manipulation software and remove any extraneous info. before uploading.

Note that facebook and pinterest now remove exif and gps data from photos when they are uploaded. Of course, photographers who used to track where their photos were being recirculated without attribute don't LIKE having their metadata stripped.
The EUSSR has basically given companies the right to rip off other's work IF they are considered "orphaned" (no contact info included).
