His cousin’s last name, and he’s 2nd behind Kingston in terms of money. Self-financing, I presume.

I am not inclined to support him, even over Kingston who is the GOPE favorite. There have not been a ton of polls that I can find but out of the 4 listed on Wikipedia from this year, this is the second that shows Perdue in front (of a badly divided 5-way field) but this one shows with much more support than any other previous poll. The next most recent poll, a PPP, has him in 4th with Broun in front by 13 points over Gingrey.

Unfortunately, Karen Handel, whom I deem to be the best choice, lags behind in the money race and makes the runoff in only 1 of the 4 polls. Gingrey would be my second choice, by default, not a stellar group. If Handel can’t compete I’ll have to advise a vote for Gingrey.

Keeping Broun (the creationist paulish candidate, who is probably the only Republican than could blow the general election to spawn of Nunn) out of the runoff is what I hope for. Unfortunately Broun appears to be the favorite among freepers.

There is a 6th fellow whom DJ likes, Derrick Grayson, a Black Minister. But he polls in the single digits and has no money. Unfortunate, because he seems better than most of the candidates. Has a professional looking website.

Grayson and Bround seem like they would be solid conservatives if they could be elected, and that is one thing I worry about because female Dems have pulled out weird victories in red states in the past (Heidi Heitkamp comes to mind). Handel hasn’t got much of a record, but she is preferable to the others on the list. Gingrey would be a last resort. He’s flaky, but is easily kept in line if you keep the pressure on.

Perdue just seems too much of an unknown quantity, running on name ID. Could easily be a massive RINO. Kingston is total RINO. This guy is the next Saxby Chambliss. Georgia deserves better than freakin’ Kingston.

I agree Gingrey is kinda flaky. And he’s elderly, 71.

But compared to Kingston and Broun (I don’t drink the koolaid, the fact that he’s by far the weakest GE candidate is of paramount importance, I don’t care how much red meat he throws) he’s swell.

"We undrestimate her and that name at our peril."

Agreed on that point, especially given what appears to be less than stellar candidates vying in the GOP primary.

Side questions please: Have the demographics in Georgia shifted to the point where Atlanta can determine the election in November? Will Georgia be a pick up for the Democrats in the Senate?

Well, I guess it would be good to know what your business is?

Because a first cousin of Sonny Perdue is most certainly politically connected, and that is something this Georgian wants no part of.

And fwiw, Jack Kingston is our rep, and he is indeed, a Master Politician. Almost always says what we, the people want to hear, but if you follow along closely, you find that what he actually Does, is what HE/the Govt. needs to do : |

And of course, he ALWAYS has a reallllly good reason for it : \

May God share His strength, cause we need it.

P.S. Welcome to FR :)

Not yet In aanynormal year the GOP will carry it for the time being unless we have a bad candidate and the Dem’s come up with a good one. Everything else we should be all right for the near future.

They’re cousins. Perdue is also well-funded and running lots of ads.

Copiers. My employer manufactures and supports them. Japanese, so they don't care much for the politics, just so long as they can do business.

Well, he's got an ACU rating of 96%, his voting positions aren't bad, and he's not a whackaloon, so IMHO you could do a lot worse! :) Do you think you could get better elected in his district, or do you think he's as good as it gets?

Me, I'm stuck with Hank "Guam" Johnson. Never vote for him, but I know there's no hope for anything other than a Dem in my district. At least he ain't Cynthia McKinney; I had a burning hate for her.
May God share His strength, cause we need it.
He will help us prevail.
P.S. Welcome to FR :)
Thanks! Glad to be here.
