Why would the Washington Post embarrass itself by republishing a thoroughly discredited attempt to link the Koch brothers to the Keystone Pipeline? Because that is a Democratic Party talking point, and the Post is a Democratic Party newspaper. But the truth is a little worse than that.
Who is Post reporter Juliet Eilperin? Among other things, she is married to Andrew Light, who writes on climate policy for the Center for American Progress. The Center for American Progress is an Obama administration front group headed by John Podesta, who is a special advisor to the Obama administration. CAPs web site, Think Progress, has carried out a years-long vendetta against the Koch brothers that has focused largely on the environment. Ms. Eilperins conflict in writing about environmental issues has already been a subject of controversy at the Post. The papers ombudsman should examine this latest example of Ms. Eilperin throwing facts to the winds in her eagerness to promote her (and her husbands) far-left agenda.

Yep. That’s why Levin refers to it as the Washington Pompost. Lol.
Yep. That’s why Levin refers to it as the Washington Compost. Lol. Damn iPad.
I submit that it impossible for an organization as dishonest as the WP to be embarrassed.
I like “p o m p o s t” too.
“Fallas” for left-wing fraud? It IS a left-wing fraud...
Falls for left-wing fraud? It IS a left-wing fraud...
Washington Post ‘fell’ for nothing. They knew it to be a fraud; they are part of the Ministry of Propaganda, engaged in the two-minute-hate of Emmanuel Goldstein.
Do NOT hold breath while awaiting a correction in the WaPo
Lowering CO2 emissions is an important goal.
Not building Keystone will shut in oilsands production and lower CO2 emissions.
An additional 650,000 B/D uninterruptible oil supply to CONUS would not lower energy prices or increase energy security for the US or increase job creation.
Shipping the oil by rail is safer and more environmentally friendly.
I could go on, but you get the picture. There is a certain cognitive dissonance being embraced by a large percentage of the populace. I hope enough of them get over it. Soon.
The Noo Yawk Times is print. The LA Times is print. Gannett is print.
Powerline is a website. The unwashed masses still get their news from fishwrap and CNN.
When you see one of them discussing this, then you can say it’s in print. Until then, it’s “just another screed by bloggers in pajamas.”
I'm not getting your point. Are you saying we need to post only from "reliable" MSM sources? Why the contempt for the bloggers? I know there is a disdain for a certain segment of those. But, this piece contains some real investigative journalism.
But ... but ... but ...
Blogs is the New Media!
Blogs is holy and goodness and cupcakes!
(Oh, wait - that’s John Kerry.)
My point was bitter sarcasm.
The best investigative journalism, where the original spirit of journalism still survives, is NOT in the MSM, but rather in the online blogs and alternate media. We all know this; hell, we as FReepers are a part of it.
But the great unwashed - aka Zombies, aka Sheeple, aka low-info’s - are taught to dismiss the alternate media as fringe, kooks, and illegitimate. The mind control of Socialism is complete.
Yes, it’s accurate. Yes, it’s good journalism. And yes, it will be suppressed by MINITRUE.
Thank you for a good post on the actual content. (Some here prefer to play in the weeds.)
From their looks, and certainly their political stance, they come from the extreme shallow end of the gene pool.
