Dianne Feinstein pushes for semi-automatic rifle import ban based on 45-year-old law

California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein is circulating a letter on Capitol Hill calling once again for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and asking for President Barack Obama to keep his State of the Union promise to make 2014 a “year of action.”

Citing the Gun Control Act of 1968, Feinstein states, “In recent years… importers of firearms have taken advantage of ATF’s interpretation of the ‘sporting purposes’ test to evade the import ban.”

Gaaaaaaa! Now she says the "somebody killed bobby bill"(aka gca68) isn't being used to prevent these WMD's from entering the country. Lucky for us there are hundreds of other laws out there huh? This fine example of proper training and trigger discipline needs to STFU! Isn't there something more important for her to be doing? Maybe calling Vlad up and threatening him since she's got more balls than the lyin' king? (Besides, "sporting purposes" is pretty ambiguous isn't it? Who make the call? Sportiness is in the eye of the beholder.)

She can take 1968 and stick it up her ass. From my cold dead hands.

Now I know why the water relief legislation is going nowhere.

She's busy taking our guns from us.

You betcha.
A fully outfitted AR is pretty "sporty" in my opinion... whereas Feinstein would wet her pants at the mere sight.

Actually, that's not true and is what makes her blathering that much more infuriating. As far back as the early 80s she was championing gun bans all the while being one of the few in San Francisco with a carry permit.
The stupid cow probably has a closet full of select fire weapons in case us "crazies" attack her.

Gun accidents kill what? Maybe 1,000 per year?
Motorized vehicle accidents kill what? Maybe 50,000 per year?

Which category should be banned is obvious.

Airplanes too. If already banned, those 239 people in Flight 370 would still be alive (or at least with their families) today.

At least, we can all agree that any Make and Model of vehicle used to aid commission in any way, of a violent crime should be banned.

Sorry Diane, in 1968 I was too busy dodging
cong mortar rounds to pay attention, you say what?

uh kinda late for that isn’t it.

If you want it, come an take it.

Ha.

I’ve been making a goodly amount of money because of this stupid law. Import Israeli parts and have other manufacture parts here and tada — Tavor.

Tavor would totally go around us if simple direct import was allowed, but, because of the stupid law we can make some money.

My daughters do appreciate the college education this witch indirectly pays for.

This is all about control of mind, body and spirit, simple as that.

These people are our natural born enemies and need to be treated as such. They can pull 1934, 1968, 1994 etc from their keesters and apply whatever perverted convoluted lies they want, but the Constitution says NOTHING about ‘sporting’ or ATF, or any of that nonsense.

We’ll end up fighting these people in the streets one day.

Roger that. We returned from a deployment to find that the weapons we had purchased while on leave had to held until clarification could be made about the “importing” section of the “somebody killed bobby bill”. Took me almost 8 months before I could get my hands back on it. Of course all this crap occured while we were deployed and being young and stupid, didn’t realize the future implications at the time. Sadly, we’ve grown, uh, more aware. Maybe not wiser but at least more aware. ;>}

Thanks for your service brother.

And of course not counting the legal murder of 1.2 million children per year. Guess it’s okay to have a license to kill and no license to speak as a complete moron.

Ms. Feinstein need to find me the place in the constitution where it says “sporting purposes”.
She also needs to explain to me why 3 gun is not a sport.

in to criminals to be locked up.

And that IS what all this is about.

Nice post on every level. Thanks.

And thanks for your service in the thick of it, from a Corpsman involved in the tail end of that shit a few years after you. Feinstein never served, never saw action, never put her life on the line. She has no place in such discussions and such decisions, and she has no face to think that she does.

“...imports of military-style weapons have increased dramatically in recent years, helping to fuel deadly gun violence along the Southwest border and in neighboring Mexico.”

She forgot to mention how those guns got to Mexico. Shout out to Eric Holder!!! ha ha

Congress has the ppwer to repeal the portion of the 1968 GCA that authorizes the AG to ban from reimportation.

We need to start pressing congressmen to do as such. The abuse of the Obama administration in applying it towards the M1 should have been an impetus for action.

For those who don’t remember those days of HELL gun owners went through, after the murder of John Kennedy, the news media went on a rampage to ban the most evil firearms in the world! The 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifle and the “Saturday Night Special!”

Every few weeks the newspapers carried the horror stories about the need to register and ban these firearms.

Then Bobby Kennedy was murdered with a handgun made in the USA. The media went berserk. The politicians rushed in the 1968 Gun Control Law.

It banned the import of Army surplus rifles and “Saturday Night Specials, but did not ban the USA made rifles or handguns.

M-98 Mauser Army rifle=EVIL and banned from import.
M-98 Mauser Police rifle=GOOD and allowed to import even though it is the same rifle.

RG=10 pistols, EVIL and Banned. (so they started assembling them in the USA.)

High quality Baby Browning and Walther PPK pistols EVIL and banned.

The firearms Feinstein wants to ban were considered Sporting rifles until the anti-gunners saw an opportunity to go for them. G H W Bush did ban some of them in his term, so we might say it is still “Bush’s Fault”.

Now, in the early 1970s, the anti handgunners discovered the Miller Decision of the SCOTUS. For several years many TV programs had anti-handgun scripts in which rifles were the “protected” firearm, but handguns not protected.

Even the show ALL IN THE FAMILY followed this script.

In 1981, actress Lee Grant was on GMA and declared “The NRA is a RIFLE organization! They should give up their handguns and they can keep their rifles!”

About 1985 the anti-gunners saw an opportunity to go after rifles and they haven’’t stopped since.

NEVER GIVE UP YOUR GUNS.

If this poor addled witch would read the controlling authority of the 1968 GCA, the 1902 Dick Act, or Efficiency of Militia Act, she would find that all their attempts to "control us minions" are, well simply put, F'en treason, along with the Brady Bill, the New York Safe Act, and any thing that prevents us from weapons in line with what the U.S. Military have.

Now can I prove what I say, hummmmm?

Perhaps, Is she trying to enact laws (by standing a bill to do just that,) that stand in direct conflict with the Constitution, Over throw the country.

Marbury v. Madison

It is also not entirely unworthy of observation that, in declaring what shall be the supreme law of the land, the Constitution itself is first mentioned, and not the laws of the United States generally, but those only which shall be made in pursuance of the Constitution, have that rank.
Thus, the particular phraseology of the Constitution of the United States confirms and strengthens the principle, supposed to be essential to all written Constitutions, that
a law repugnant to the Constitution is void,
and that courts, as well as other departments, are bound by that instrument.

(emphasis added)

"18 USC §2381. Treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

18 USC § 2382 - Misprision of treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States and having knowledge of the commission of any treason against them, conceals and does not, as soon as may be, disclose and make known the same to the President or to some judge of the United States, or to the governor or to some judge or justice of a particular State, is guilty of misprision of treason and shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than seven years, or both.

Read for your selves, it is not my opinion, its what the law says.
