Car crashes into the Lodge in Canberra (official residence of Australian Prime Minister)

A CAR has crashed into a wall at the Prime Minister’s Lodge in Canberra.

The elderly driver has been taken to hospital following the incident, according to the ACT Emergency Services Agency.

“Firefighters are working to stabilise the concrete wall of the Prime Minister’s Lodge on “National Circuit after a car crash,” a report on the agency’s website stated.

It does look like an accident - and the car has crashed into the wall around the grounds, not the wall of the building itself. Not a good accident to have though.

I drive past there fairly frequently and it wouldn’t take much to loose control and hit the wall. There’s basically only a footpath between Adelaide Ave and the wall and the speed limit is 80km/h there as well.
