The Pentagon on Friday said it was considering a request from Malaysian Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein to provide undersea surveillance equipment to help in the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

The Malaysian defence chief made the request in a telephone call with Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel, the Pentagon said in a statement.

Hagel said he would "assess the availability and utility of military undersea technology for such a task and provide him an update in the very near future," the statement added.

IMHO, governments know where the plane is and what happened to it; and everything done since in “searching” (in all the wrong places, apparently), has just been a waste of time and money.

Ditto for this.

They don’t want to call it terrorism, so it will be something else. Or they hope the world will move on and we will forget about it.

Sure, as long as they pay for it.

Obama made it seem this was is Number One priority... We all know he is just talk, but this will not sit well with much of the world. His wife and kids are in China, and the Pentagon is hemming and hawing about looking for what could very well be dozens of dead Chinese. Strange timing all around.

I think it was accidentally shot down by either Malaysia, Indonesia or some other country it may have flown as an unidentified aircraft. That's not to say the pilots (or whoever had control of the aircraft) had innocent intentions.

Which of the many countries involved with this search are responsible to fly over Malaysia to search for any wreckage? Probably the Malaysian military. Indonesia wont allow anyone to search for flight 370 over their nation. Isn't it strange that ALL countries (except Thailand) this unidentifed aircraft flew over got lucky enough to not be noticed by any of them? I think their luck ran out during one of the flyovers and the debris is not in the water but in a jungle. Either that or (less likely) the plane landed somewhere else.

Obama made it seem this was is Number One priority:

Wait that was jobs.

Then the economy.

Then the minimum wage.

Wait, immigration.

The Malaysian govt should recieve no help whatsoever until they tell what truth they know about this whole mess. They have told nothing but lies to cover their asses to this point

Tell them that equipment is busy off the coast of Australia trying to find what they lost and lied about for a week.

Give their shamans some snorkels and tell them to learn to hold their breath.

Malaysia. Isn’t that the place that shook their fist in our ‘infidel’ faces when we sent tsunami aid?
