Eighteen year-old Jordan Wiser is training to be a firefighter. He’s a certified emergency vehicle operator who works as a first responder when he’s not attending high school. And, after just spending 13 days in jail, he’s now facing felony charges for weapons possession.

The weapon? A pocketknife. It was in his EMT vest, and he uses it to cut through seatbelts when he’s practicing saving lives.

I wonder how much contraband we would find in the vehicles of these unnamed officials...

bout time parents start to exercise their own zero-tolerance policy

Swiss Army Knife has to be a no no—militaristic and all that.

Kid should claim he converted to Sikhism and he now has a religious right to a kirpan...

The left would be all over each other trying to defend him....

Or maybe not, Sikhs are the natural enemies of the left’s favorite ally the Islamic freaks.

Romney was the wrong candidate.

He was yet another, in a long string of wrong candidates, the GOP has somehow settled upon.

The GOP needs to come up with some other way of selecting our candidates (if I am still in the GOP).

Picking candidates like Romney is exactly why we are in the mess we are in.

America needs another, new direction. We need American jobs, and we need to bring back American companies, to America.

Now.

Local officials and police officers cannot make exceptions for people who’s jobs and job training include knives and firearms...

You would think there is some discretion they could have used but they cannot because of zero-tolerance laws...

When it comes to making exceptions to the law ONLY the U.S. Attorney General “Elrich Der-Holder” can do that....

what? Is this for real? In a once free nation?

That's the real question, although one could argue procedural issues, like unauthorized search and seizure, or he was an authorized carrier of the knife--a tool of the EMT trade.

Officials searched Wiser’s car in the school parking lot and found an assortment of items, including a pocketknife, a stun gun, and two Airsoft pellet guns. Wiser said the Airsoft guns were in his trunk because he planned to participate in the sport after school. The stun gun was locked in his glove compartment for self-defense. The pocketknife was inside his EMT medical vest.

They searched his car because he had made some pro-self-defense YouTube videos and school officials were "concerned".

They went after him because they didn't like his politics.

In Ohio, even. Outrageous. Oh my God, someone with decision power grow a brain already and throw this case out on it's ear. He's a junior EMT!

I know what knives EMTs and Fireman (and LEOs) carry here. They have $300 folding knives that can cut through auto sheet metal in an emergency if required. Some are even automatic (aka "Switchblades"), which are legal here for first responders. They need them.

The only part that really surprises me is that he could actually cut through a seatbelt with a swiss army knife.

I wonder whether said school has a baseball team, and if so where they keep the bats. Under many circumstances a baseball bat is a much more effective weapon than a pocketknife.

Just imagine how those people must think that this kind of thing makes them look good. How can it possibly bring them feelings of well-being? It’s about time for the rest of us to say “F” them and horse they rode in on.

“Fairness” dictates that we must manufacture white criminals because it is not fair that blacks commit crimes disproportionately to their percentage of the population.

I don't think we are getting the full story here. In the knife enthusiast community it's well known that "cutting seat belts" is more made up marketing fantasy than reality. While many fireman and EMTs carry knives most will state with years on the job they have never used their knife to cut a seat belt. I'm sure it has happened but the reality is it's almost unheard of in actual practice.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the liberal idiots in any way. I'm just pointing out that the seat belt story sounds perfectly legit to the uninformed but it's mostly fantasy. So I tend to think there is more here than we are being led to believe.
