Eighteen year-old Jordan Wiser is training to be a firefighter. He’s a certified emergency vehicle operator who works as a first responder when he’s not attending high school. And, after just spending 13 days in jail, he’s now facing felony charges for weapons possession.
The weapon? A pocketknife. It was in his EMT vest, and he uses it to cut through seatbelts when he’s practicing saving lives.

This country has 18 year olds who have bled for their country overseas and are deemed to young to order a beer and we have twenty-six year old pajama boys who aren’t too old to be on their parent’s insurance.

I have trouble believing this would really destroy one’s career chances especially once one described what happened and the details. But if there are zero tolerance policies or if this sticks as a felony and that alone is a disqualifier then I’m at a loss. This country is in ways equal if not worse than communist shtholes of the past for bureaucratic insanity when it comes to some zero tolerance and PC rules and red tape over a stain on someone’s record.
This and the fact that the American people WILL NOT get rid of these politicians, we instead give them permanent life long jobs to behave this way. They couldn't treat us this way if we didn't let them. We are sheep.

Watching Dr. Ferris watch him, Rearden saw the sudden twitch of anxiety, the look that precedes panic, as if a clean card had fallen on the table from a deck Dr. Ferris had never seen before.
What Dr. Ferris was seeing in Rearden’s face was the look of luminous serenity that comes from the sudden answer to an old, dark problem, a look of relaxation and eagerness together; there was a youthful clarity in Rearden’s eyes and the faintest touch of contempt in the line of his mouth. Whatever this meant - and Dr. Ferris could not decipher it - he was certain of one thing: the face held no sign of guilt.

I had a tiny (one-inch blade) pocket knife on my key chain confiscated by airport security.
