Pope Francis has a warning for Italy's mobsters: They will go to hell if they don't repent and renounce their "blood-stained money and blood-stained power."

I am not Roman Catholic, and I've been told by my RC brethren that often the media obscures or perverts the teaching of this pope and the Vatican to a degree that makes it unbelievable.
So...is this accurate, or no? And, if accurate, can we HOPE the Pontiff will say the same to BO the pro-infanticide, pro-sodomy, pro-Marxism "leader" later this month when they meet? :)
I pray that he does!
He can frame his statement as an Evangelical one..
“May you be given the revelation that some of your politcal positions are heinous ABOMINATIONS in God’s Sight!”...”The Pope”
The same could be said for the pope if he doesn’t repent. That applies to all of us.
Is there some mobster somewhere who didn't know it was wrong?
Is there some mobster somewhere that this will make a difference?
That just makes me want to puke.
Give him credit. I don’t remember any previous popes threatening hell.
Why not just excommunicate the murdering bastards, baby-killers and disease-ridden, boy-raping whackjobs?
Physician heal thy church.
Abortionists are automatically excommunicated per canon law. So is anyone else who participates in an abortion.
What about all those "catholic" pro-abortion democRATs in your legislature?
Have they been excommunicated?
Pope Obvious I
Sounds like he found the second set of books at the Vatican and they’re signed Guido...
I’m sorry...This doesn’t fit this popes background. Someone is prompting him and he’s coming out as a nutcase. The Bishops and cardinals love him? Do they or was he a mistake...or bad judgment?
Didn’t the Pope watch the Godfather when Michael was standing as godfather to Connie’s baby, denouncing the devil while having all his enemies shot dead? I don’t know, maybe Michael thought he was doing the right thing.
Are you an authority on this Pope's background?
Nutcase? I guess I'm the same case, because I cheered reading it yesterday.
There we go - let's get our theology from the movies.
So why give them communion? The Catholic church has long soft peddled abortionists to avoid losing their $$ base in the northeast.
How is that automatic? Not disputing you here. Genuinely curious.
Why not just reiterate the ten commandments. Cover the mobsters and abortionists and everything else for that matter.
Anyone who has spent time in Sicily, knows the evil of the Mafia. The enormous amount of victims, the fear ordinary folks have of them - their presence in every day life and the unbelievable shakedowns. Why, you can’t even park in a parking lot without some capo demanding a fee while holding a baseball bat. Absolutely chilling...
So, the Pope is right to speak out on this issue which is so close to Italian culture.
I'm just wondering why it would make any difference.
They will not be excommunicated.
But they should be denied Communion.
The divorced-and-remarried are not excommunicated, but they are denied Communion everywhere.
The very same bishops and priests who refuse to give Communion to the divorced-and-remarried insist on giving Communion to pro-abortion politicians.
No bishop has the right to do this, and no bishop has the authority to command or pressure his priests to do it.
But almost all of them do.
What this means is that Cardinals Wuerl, Dolan, O’Malley, and Archbishop Chaput and many others, because of their lack of courage, are all walking around habitually in the state of mortal sin.
They have the duty to stop the scandalous and sacrilegious Communions of pro-abortion politicians, and they refuse to do it. Each time Nancy Pelosi receives Communion, it is a NEW MORTAL SIN for the priest who participates, and for Cardinal Wuerl and for Archbishop Cordileone in San Francisco.
Officially pro-abortion (sorry, pro-choice) publicly well known Catholic political official receiving Communion.
Can it not be said that an elected legislator, approving of abortion, is not participating in it?
Of course, members of SCOTUS who approved this law are definitely highly culpable.
Well, then why speak out on anything?
Ummm. It was a joke. Hopefully, you were also joking.
Heads need to roll.
It sounds like a lot of letters to the editor, from a lot of Catholics nationwide, need to be sent in on this topic. The Church is virtually the oldest body politic in existence, and its heirarchy needs to have their feet held to the fire. Obviously a ground war needs to be waged.
There must be some kind of conservative Catholic network that can pull this off.
