Romney Takes on Tea Party in Idaho
Newsmax ^ | March 21, 2014 | Courtney Coren

Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney this week campaigned in Idaho for Gov. Butch Otter and Rep. Mike Simpson, who have primary battles against tea party challengers, to prevent the GOP from veering "wild right."
"I'm here today in Idaho . . . to make sure people understand that the people I'm standing with right here are the right team of conservative leaders to help the people of Idaho," Romney said, according to NPR.
-SNIP-
According to David Adler, director of the Andrus Center for Public Policy at Boise State University, Romney's purpose in the state is to help with voter turnout and to keep the Republican Party from veering "into the wild right, which will hurt Idaho and hurt America."
Adler said that voter turnout is key for establishment Republican candidates because "the assumption [is] that there are more moderate members of the GOP then there are hard right wingers."

Yes. Sorry, bad source.

Mr. Romney, if you had won, in their blind faith and allegiance, the faithful republicans would have had to argue for the very things they are philosophically against.

Reagan once said that he didn't leave the Democrat party, it left him.

Unfortunately, you and your republican party have left US also by tagging along with the demonrats and into their marxist big GuvCo socialism.

The TEA party represents the philosophy you portray for yourselves and run on each election, then run from once elected.

We see you, just as we see the edge you and your demonrat friends will push US over if given any more chances.

You've become lost, Tooter, and you and your party need to turn back! Help them, Mr. Wizzard:

"Drizzle, drazzle, drozzle drone
Time for this one to come home."

Funny how they claim conservatives can’t win yet run as conservatives.

Why do the GOP elites only take off their gloves when going against conservatives?

Why do people come on FR and tell conservatives to support the electable candidate rather than the conservative?

Which battles must be won before we can win the war?

The Mormon militia of Eastern Idaho is the reason we are stuck with Mike (RINO) Simpson. My county (Elmore) is the home of Mtn Home AFB with a large AF retired community. He voted to screw all of us on our retirement COLA. He is anything, but a fiscal conservative and most of his votes are go along get along. I have had no faith in the man for over 8 years the only reason I go to the polls is a fruitless attempt (so far) to throw the bum out. Maybe this time will be the charm thanks to the support of the RINO brigade.

The wild right refers to people who want the wealthy to actually provide goods and services in exchange for profit. Using government and shuffling paper to get rich is evil and harmful to the country.

“America Romney is a good guy.”

No he isn’t. He is a mendacious fraud and a malignant culture warrior. He promoted subsidized abortions in the general populace while discouraging it amongst his coreligionists. That is genocidal, as carried out by a pencil lipped bean counter rather than a “second Mohammad”.

I beg to differ. He's a BAD guy. He's a "good guy" the same way Obama, by all appearances an affectionate father and amiable tool, is a "good guy."

Among other things, Romney:
a) advanced and promoted homosexual outreach (Gay Pride) to middle school children;
b) defended the "right" of "gay parents" to adopt children (meaning he would punish adoption agencies for refusing such prospective "parents")
c) stated that a minor girl who gets pregnant whose parents refuse to give their consent for an abortion, can go to a judge and have him override said parents.

CNN, if THAT is your idea of a "good guy," a "good American and a good leader," you need to re-think your definition of "good."

Rommney is a BAD guy. He was BAD news for the GOP in 2008, worse news in 2012, and he is BAD news now. He is an amoral DIVIDER, a weakener, a bad guy who openly engages in "leading young ones astray" as confirmed in the three FACTS about him listed above.

At this point what difference does it make? Another RINO president is not going to restore the constitutional republic. Three more years of Obama and even moderate republicans will be itching to vote for a far right candidate. Something radical has to happen. Otherwise nothing will change.

Butch Otter is a Catholic.

Not being from Idaho, I'm guessing this is as in "John Kerry was wounded in Vietnam."

but [Palin] will win if she runs. I am 100% on her side.

I may disagree with your assessment of Romney as a "good" guy, but I agree COMLETELY with your words above!! Amen, Brother FReeper.

I was waffling. Sorry but that’s where I’m coming from, so I will continue to waffle.

I agree Romney should stay the heck out of elections now, he had his chance. He had a very good chance. He was the GOP nominee - he had all the support he could ever have wished for, and HE LOST.

I was originally for Palin. When Palin bowed out, I went for Romney, so I am in the minds of some here not a good judge of character, but I do not thing the problem is Romney.

But I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH ANOTHER ROMNEY RUN.

Romney you had a perfect chance last time. Everything was on your side.

You lost.

Romney, you lost.

Stay out of the way now.

I don’t think things turn until there is a complete economic collapse.

Then, all bets are off, and the domestic nomeklatura will flee like Nazis in May of 1945.

Mitt and the rest of the RINOs don’t care much if you or any other conservative don’t vote for them just as long we don’t elect conservatives. They rather Democrats win than someone who will fight the ruling class.

I do ask you to reconsider not voting for any Republicans. There are some good conservative Republicans still out there, and they need our support now more than ever. Not supporting them is letting the Democrat/RINO alliance to win.

"Well Mitt thank God you lost."

Did you thank God BO won?

I can't speak for GG2, but I am VERY grateful that Romney lost; I prayed for his defeat; for the first time in 35-plus years of voting ALWAYS straight Republican ticket, I voted third party at the top of the ticket in order to vote FOR a power-weakening plurality win for whichever amoral government tyrant won, Romney or Obama. YOU, steelwheels, if you voted for Romney, are no doubt eloquent in describing what you imagined you were voting "against." The mathematical hard truth, though, is that your vote for Romney was a vote FOR GOVERNMENT TYRANNY FROM REPUBLICANS. That is plain and simple what you voted FOR. Man up to it, please!!!

But you probably think that when you voted for Romney you were voting "against" Obama, and on the same principle, that anyone who is glad Romney lost, as GG2 and I and many other God-fearing conservatives are, that we are "glad" BO won. It's the same illusory and deeply flawed "logic," or lack thereof.
